Wasteland Creatures are a variant of Creatures found on Extinction. They roam the Wasteland, which has left a huge mark on their appearance and behavior. Starved and scarred, Wasteland Creatures have all become aggressive towards everything, not unlike Corrupted Creatures whom they also fight with. They have 20% more  Movement Speed and  Melee Damage in exchange for 5% less  Health. They all also have death animations and some even possess new attacks.

Wasteland Allosaurus

Wasteland Allo is a variant of  Allosaurus. It spawns in northern and esatern parts of the map near places like The Ribcage, Eroded Pass, Ivory Gulch, Mt. Bracken and Dome Treatment among others. It uses one color region for its body, belly and most of its scales, unlike vanilla variant. It has a pattern resembling spines with ribs going from the back of its body to the head and some small dots covering its skin in various places. Its eyes are more reptilian and have a vertical pupil.

Wasteland Amargasaurus

Wasteland Amargasaurus is a variant of  Amargasaurus. It spawns near the Dome Treatment and Control Center (rarely) and also in the mid-section between The Sweeping Spires and Sanctuary, most commonly near the Desert Dome. It doesn't have a pattern near the spikes and is much more pastel-colored than its vanilla variant. It has stripes that go all over its body, save for legs, which have separate color region, shared with their head spikes. Its eyes also have a reptilian shape and color.

Wasteland Carbonemys

Wasteland Carbonemys is a variant of  Carbonemys. It spawns on Sanctuary outskirts, near Dome Treatment and Control Center. Its bodily patterns are somewhat the same but now have different regions tied to them. Its head armor now has different color regions and spikes on its shell have a different color region on their tips.

Wasteland Iguanodon

Wasteland Iguanodon is a variant of  Iguanodon. It appears on most areas of the Wasteland, including The lowlands, Sweeping Spires, Sulfur Fields' border with rest of the map and Sanctuary outskirts. It has a striped tail and its body has a scratch-looking pattern.

Wasteland Megalania

Wasteland Megalania is a variant of  Megalania. It spawns near the Control Center, Sanctuary outskirts, Sweeping Spires and its border with the map. Color pattern present on its back is much less visible, because it now shares a region with the general megalania's back color. It's eyes are now green and have vertical pupils.

Wasteland Rex

Wasteland Rex is a variant of  Rex. It spawns in Sweeping Spires, a bit farther from Sanctuary outskirts than other Wasteland Creatures, as well as close to Control Center. It has a net-like pattern on its back and scratch-like pattern on its face. It's eyes are now green and have vertical pupils, just like megalania's. It has a new attack - a headbutt, activated using C, that deals 35 base damage (42 because of Wasteland Creatures' 20% increase in damage).

Utility

  • Enhanced fulfilling vanilla roles: Most Wasteland Creatures greatly benefit from their variant tradeoff.
    •  Allosaurus's already decent speed and damage get buffed, which allows for better transportation and a bit higher support damage when fighting  Bosses, mini-bosses and  Brute Creatures.
    •  Amargasaurus, cosidered to be a good pick for environmental travel, can now move much quicker to avoid danger when wandering Snow Dome or Sulfur Fields, where insulation really comes in handy. From the damage point however, the armor piercing attacks benefit from damage buff.
    •  Iguanodon becomes much better at travelling and transporting due to its base speed buff.
    •  Megalania, while being outclassed in vertical mobility by Enforcers and (obtainable with this mod) Rock Drakes, can at least become a better mass infector, leaning more into suicide bomber strategies than vanilla variant.
    •  Rex gives up a bit of its tanking capabilities to become much better combat-oriented. It becomes somewhat of a middle ground between a vanilla  Rex and  Spino, providing health pool and DPS that both fit just in between.

Notes/Trivia

  • According to official mod's guide, Wasteland variants for  Raptor and  Yutyrannus are planned.
  • Health reduction for Wasteland Creatures applies as a negative taming bonus, rather than base stat change. This means that wild Wasteland Creatures have as much health as their vanilla counterparts.
