Basic Info

Behavior

Appearance

Brute Basilosaurus appear similar to the normal  Basilosaurus but are larger.

Color Scheme and Regions

This section displays the Brute Basilosaurus's natural colors and regions. For demonstration, the regions below are colored red over an albino Brute Basilosaurus. The colored squares shown underneath each region's description are the colors that the Brute Basilosaurus will randomly spawn with to provide an overall range of its natural color scheme. Hover your cursor over a color to display its name and ID.

This information can be used to alter the Brute Basilosaurus's regions by entering cheat SetTargetDinoColor <ColorRegion> <ColorID> in the cheat console. For instance, cheat SetTargetDinoColor 0 6 would color the Brute Basilosaurus's "body main" magenta.

  • For a comparison of the stats of all creatures, see Base Creature Statistics.
  • For an explanation of exactly how the levelup calculation works, see Creature Stats Calculation.
  • 1These are the base speeds of the tamed creature at 100% Movement Speed, i.e. without a possible taming bonus.
  • 2These are the speeds of the creature once tamed including a possible taming bonus and no imprinting bonus.
  • For a comparison of the speeds of all creatures, see Base Creature Speeds.

Wild Stats Level-up

Type in values of a wild creature to see on which stats it's emphasized. Green values on a high-level creature are very good for breeding. If you have already tamed your creature you can try to recover the breeding stats with an external tool.[1]

Brute Basilosaurus

The stat-calculator does not work in the mobile-view, see here for alternatives: Apps

Note that after the creature is tamed it gets bonuses on some stats depending on the taming effectiveness. This makes it hard to retrieve the levels on a tamed creature, so this tool is only for wild ones, but gives a first impression, how well the stats are distributed.

Combat

This section describes how to fight against the Brute Basilosaurus.

General

The Brute Basilosaurus appears as a minion in the mission "Chasing the White Whale." While it is intended to assist the  Brute Leedsichthys, they just passively wander around and pose no threat to the player. They are fairly durable so they take some time to kill, though this can be done after the  Brute Leedsichthys has been dealt with. Right now it's suspected that this behavior is just a bug which may be fixed in the future.

Strategy

Since the Brute Basilosaurus doesn't attack back, just do everything in your power to attack and kill it.

Weaponry

Any strong creature can do this task since you don't have to worry about taking damage. If the player has a very high quality Sword and good melee damage, that would also suffice.

Dangers

The only danger the Brute Basilosaurus currently proposes is to soak up your time on the hunt. They will also wander so far and teleport back to the main fighting area, and should you leave the area, the Brute Basilosaurus may recover all its health.

Weakness

It's slow and won't attack back.

Notes/Trivia

  • Interestingly the Brute Basilosaurus is the only creature that doesn't carry over it's X variant for the Brute variant but instead uses the variant used in older maps.
  • The Brute Basilosaurus is probably the most realistic interpretation of the creature it’s based on in the game: aggressive and very dangerous, unlike the peaceful representation which is completely inaccurate
