Combat
This section describes how to fight against Fenrisúlfr.
General
Fenrisúlfr is a strong opponent and careful preparation is advised.
Strategy
Use the Environment to your advantage, tames that utilize the Hydrated Buff will be useful thanks to the river within the Fenrisúlfr Arena, also be sure to bring insulating cloths as the arena itself is freezing.
Recommended Tames
Shadowmanes and
Spinosaurus will both be useful in the fight thanks to the River within the arena allowing them to get the hydrated buff, the Shadowmane has the natural armor and the Spinosaurus has strong knockback with its claw attacks to help push back Fenrir Minions.
Yutyrannus as always are a jack of all trades boss mount, they can buff allies boosting their damage and have decent stats.
Rex Rushing is always an effective boss running method.
- If players are willing to deal with the micromanaging then
Daeodon can be useful in healing your tames.
Magmasaurs can be brought into the arena and deal high damage.
Andrewsarchus could be useful due to decent stats, fast speed to cover distance and the Turret Saddle they have can help provide cover fire.
Dangers
Wielding an arsenal of abilities, Fenrisúlfr is considered a dangerous boss, if not for the fact of having the second highest health among all known bosses (Only beaten by
King Titan).
Its abilities includes utilizing the Ice Storm ability similar to
Steinbjörn albeit at a larger radius, along with its ability to reinforce itself with frozen armor via Howling and raising Ice Spikes that deals damage to anything below it. Similarly, it may often induce a concentrated frost burst in front similar to
Managarmr, freezing anything in its range. Staying too close whenever it summons an Ice Storm will cause a fast Fenrir projectile to immediately dash at the nearest survivor with nearly no way of dodging it, dealing massive damage that ignores armor quality which may ultimately result in instant death.
Often, cohorts of
Fenrir will appear to aid the giant wolf. With frozen armor, it can easily put survivors under constant Hypothermia debuff
Weakness
The River can be useful to provide Hydration Buffs and the Arena itself is fairly big with lots of room to kite around it, finally Fenrisúlfr is rather slow so covering distance should be easy enough.

Notes/Trivia
- Fenrisúlfr or "Fenrir's wolf" is an other name of Fenrir[1] in the Norse mythology. It must not be confused with the Fenrir, another creature of the DLC.
- The OST played during the boss fight against it shares similar to the boss fight in Ragnarok Arena.
- Just like the
Crystal Wyvern Queen and
Dinopithecus King Fenrisúlfr has a 4th variation showing it's true appearance.
- Fenrisúlfr is potentially the final Boss implemented into Ark 1.
- Fenrir pods may appear as empty if the survivor in question lost connection to the server during the fight after killing it, but at least another living and connected survivor is still alive within the arena.
