The Alpha Blood Crystal Wyvern is one of the creatures in the Crystal Isles DLC of ARK: Survival Evolved.

Basic Info

The Alpha Blood Crystal Wyvern is a bigger, stronger version of the normal  Blood Crystal Wyvern.

Behavior

Highly aggressive alphas that attack on sight, using its blood sucking healing attack

Appearance

The Alpha Blood Crystal Wyvern will have a unique blood effect floating around it and is larger with prominent crystals on its back similarly to the  Crystal Wyvern Queen.

Note that after the creature is tamed it gets bonuses on some stats depending on the taming effectiveness. This makes it hard to retrieve the levels on a tamed creature, so this tool is only for wild ones, but gives a first impression, how well the stats are distributed.

Strategy

An Easy fight with an Imprinted/high level Blood Crystal.

Or a decent gigantosaurus will make short work of the alpha.

Otherwise lure to a Captain Fatdog Metal Wyvern trap.

Notes/Trivia

• The Alpha Blood Crystal Wyvern is the only alpha crystal wyvern variant.
• It's also the second Alpha Wyvern variant, the first being the  Alpha Fire Wyvern.
• It's the only Alpha Creature to come from an Official non-canon Map.
• Alpha Blood Crystal Wyverns can spawn up to level 225 in the desert (45 level steps), but will only spawn up to level 150 everywhere else on the map. This is because it shares the same spawn parameters as both Crystal Wyverns which can spawn up to level 150, and Crystal Wyvern Heirs which can spawn up to level 225.
