The map Crystal Isles, formerly known as ISO: Crystal Isles, is a free, official, non-canonical DLC expansion map for ARK: Survival Evolved.

New Creatures
Every new creature in Crystal Isles holds a surprise, from the explosive Tropeognathus to the glowing
Crystal Wyvern. Furthermore, Crystal Isles adds a new boss called the
Crystal Wyvern Queen. The
Crystal Wyvern Queen spawns minions called the
Crystal Wyvern Heir.
Unique Environmental Features
- Large Crystals coating the map giving it its namesake.
- An island constantly engulfed in darkness and thunder known as Eldritch Isle with floating water bubbles and an abundance of rare resources.
- A massive cluster of floating islands known as Apotheosis.
- An enormous bee hive in the form of a cave filled with honey and home to
Giant Worker Bees and
Dire Bears.
- Giant Anthills that spawn
Titanomyrma and can be harvested for resources.
- Bogs filled with rotting corpses that inflict a
Torpor-inducing debuff.
- A Trench filled with
Griffin Nests.
- A cave within the desert that acts as a hive for
Crystal Wyvern Heirs.

- This is the 4th Free DLC Map originated from the mods, others being The Center, Ragnarok and Valguero.
- This is the 3rd Free DLC Map to introduce a unique exclusive dino inside the map, others being Ragnarok (with
Griffin) and Valguero (with
Deinonychus)
- This is also the 3rd free DLC map to introduce a unique tamable variant of an existing DLC dino (
Crystal Wyvern), others being Ragnarok (
Ice Wyvern and
Dire Polar Bear) and Valguero (with
Chalk Golem and
Ice Golem)
- This is the 1st Free DLC Map to have an original boss as opposed to reusing old bosses, the
Crystal Wyvern Queen.
- This is also the 3rd free DLC map to introduce a unique tamable variant of an existing DLC dino (
- Crystal Isles, at 150 square km, is nearly the same size as The Island, Scorched Earth, and The Center put together. (Added up they are 154 square km) and larger than Ragnarok (144 square km), although Ragnarok likely has more land mass (unconfirmed)
- Lost Island has the same size but it's more of an underwater adventure and Crystal Isles has more land mass due to the floating islands.
- Crystal Isles is the second mod map to bring a new Artifact. The first is The Center
- There were originally Liquid, Crystal, Phantom, Zombie and Grand creatures on this map when it was still a mod.
