Temperament in ARK: Survival Evolved refers to how likely a creature is to be hostile.

The  Rare Flower and  Pheromone Dart can make non-aggressive creatures become aggressive.

Cowardly creatures will never fight back, even when tamed, and will attempt to run when attacked.

Docile creatures will attack if provoked, otherwise they may ignore the player.

Elusive Creatures are extremely rare and are prone to fleeing.

Evasive creatures will attempt to avoid danger and flee or fight when attacked..

Fearful creatures will never fight back, and when a  Human enters the area, they will attempt to flee.

Exclusive to  Beelzebufos, they act similar to docile creatures, though behave in a much more relaxed, serene manner whenever wandering.

In the wild, Loyal creatures may behave like Skittish or Defensive creatures, but once tamed, they become close, valuable companions.

Currently Exclusive to Diplodocus. Naive creatures will attempt to make friendship and play with the creature attacking them.

Exclusive to  Dodo. They will ignore any sign of danger unless attacked, in which they will flee and not fight back.

Passive creatures do not fight back and will start to flee once attacked.

Skittish creatures will either flee, panic, or do nothing when attacked.

The only creature with the temperament "Stupid" is the  Ovis. They'll try to flee if attacked, but because of their stupidity, they'll run into the attacking creature.

Curious creatures are friendly. They will approach the player, but not attack them. In the case of  Compy, however, once two or more approach the player, they will become hostile and attack.

Defensive creatures will not attack you, but if you attack them they will defend themselves. In the case of  Leedsichthys, they will attack any raft in the open water.

Flippant creatures will attack in a frivolous manner when provoked.

Friendly creatures will act in a similar manner to Docile creatures, however, if provoked, they may either fight or flee depending on the creature.

Neutral creatures attack when provoked. They will forget you after a long time. In the case of  Megatherium, once it kills an insect, they will become aggressive. With  Vultures, they will become aggressive if you are near a corpse.

Reactive creatures will watch what you do, but if you do something they don’t like, they might fight back or flee.  Coelacanth and the  Procoptodon will never fight back.

Aggressive creatures will attack you on sight. In the case of the  Pegomastax they start to flee after stealing an item.

Nocturnally Aggressive

Some of these creatures usually sleep during daytime hours, posing little to no threat (unless woken up by touching/approaching it closely.) During the day, it is considerably weak and slow, whereas at night they are augmented and dangerous predators, sporting ominous, glowing eyes.

Opportunistic creatures prey on weak creatures.

Patient creatures wait for the right time to jump at the player.

Creatures that are short-tempered will attack the player after a few seconds.

Territorial creatures stay nearby a certain location and will attack if you enter their area.
