The Brute Ferox is a Brute Creature in ARK: Survival Evolved's Expansion Pack Genesis: Part 1.
Basic Info
Behavior
The Brute Ferox spawns in the mission Hyde and Seek after you follow enough of it's tracks. It attacks everything in sight like the mission says and can occasionally dismount you with it's ground-pound ability.
Appearance
Brute Ferox appear similar to the normal Ferox (Large) but are larger.
Color Scheme and Regions
This section displays the Brute Ferox's natural colors and regions. For demonstration, the regions below are colored red over an albino Brute Ferox. The colored squares shown underneath each region's description are the colors that the Brute Ferox will randomly spawn with to provide an overall range of its natural color scheme. Hover your cursor over a color to display its name and ID.
This information can be used to alter the Brute Ferox's regions by entering cheat SetTargetDinoColor <ColorRegion> <ColorID>
in the cheat console. For instance, cheat SetTargetDinoColor 0 6
would color the Brute Ferox's "back" magenta.

Wild Stats Level-up
Type in values of a wild creature to see on which stats it's emphasized. Green values on a high-level creature are very good for breeding. If you have already tamed your creature you can try to recover the breeding stats with an external tool.[1]
The stat-calculator does not work in the mobile-view, see here for alternatives: Apps
Note that after the creature is tamed it gets bonuses on some stats depending on the taming effectiveness. This makes it hard to retrieve the levels on a tamed creature, so this tool is only for wild ones, but gives a first impression, how well the stats are distributed.
Combat
This section describes how to fight against the Brute Ferox.
General
The Brute Ferox attacks very quickly and does a lot of damage, making it a very formidable opponent. Additionally, it has the ability to knock you off of your mount. This can be especially dangerous on Beta or Alpha difficulties!
Strategy
A pack of attacking dinosaurs is recommended, as it can knock you off of your mount. Sending said pack to slay the Brute Ferox while you stand in a corner is advised. At the final stage of "Hyde and Seek" you'll need to defeat a pack of direwolves and x-sabertooths. These creatures can be easy to kill as they have relatively low health, but be wary of the wolves pack and howling bonuses!
Weaponry
Similar to a normal Ferox, a Brute Ferox can be shot down with ranged weapons. A Rock Elemental can be a good choice for a mount, as when you are dismounted, you remain on top of it (out reach of the Brute Ferox) due to the creature's tall stature.
Dangers
Brute Ferox's ability to dismount makes this dangerous opponent. After factoring in it's high damage and health stats, it can obliterate most players.
The buff from the wolves howl ability near the end of the mission also adds to the challenge.
Weakness
Despite its strengths, the Brute Ferox has relatively low health compared to other Brutes. This makes the battle easier once you can overcome the pitfalls mentioned above.
It is also possible to pick the Sabertooths off one at a time so that the Brute Ferox can be killed with less threats. It is important to remember that the direwolves will still be present, though.
