The Shadow Titan is one of the new creatures and bosses in Fixed Extinction.

Basic info

Behavior

Shadow Titan doesn't spawn naturally, instead needing a special item to summon - File:Mod Fixed Extinction Shadow Rune.png Shadow Rune (Mod:Fixed Extinction). A wild Titan will fight by throwing punches, using magic attacks and summonning minions. Unlike File:Mod Fixed Extinction Fire Titan.png Fire Titan (Mod:Fixed Extinction), it won't attack wild creatures nearby.

Appearance

Shadow Titan has a demon-like look resembling a creature taken straight out of Doom. The Titan has a humanoid stance. Its legs look like animal's, sporting three claws that replace toes. Both its hands have four claws that have more hooked shape than those on its feet. A pair of horns grows out of both sides of his skull, as well as cheeks. It has brown skin, purple eyes and sharp, yellow teeth.

Color Scheme and Regions

The Shadow Titan always spawns with the same color scheme and has no color regions.

This means it is currently impossible to make alterations to the Shadow Titan's colors.

Minions

Shadow Titan has the ability to summon minions under the C. It will always spawn 10 random units, all level 100, from those listed below. Minions can have genders and so can receive mate boost and their inventory can't be accessed without cheats. Additionally, Shadow Titan's minions disappear without leaving a corpse or loot after dying. Unlike other minions, Shadow minions can't reproduce.

  • Shadow Brontosaurus - Uses the same stats as a  Brontosaurus.
  • Shadow Carno - Uses the same stats as a  Carno.
  • Shadow Owl - Uses the same stats as a  Snow Owl.
  • Shadow Pteranodon - Uses the same stats as a  Pteranodon.
  • Shadow Raptor - Uses the same stats as a  Raptor.
  • Shadow Ravager - Uses the same stats as a  Ravager.
  • Shadow Rex - Uses the same stats as a  Rex.
  • Shadow Rock Drake - Uses the same stats as a  Rock Drake.

Combat

General

Shadow Titan can catch up to survivors with  Movement Speed of 180%, closing the distance very slowly. Its attacks that are faster than those of vanilla  Titans, but with speed like mentioned, those still can be escaped from.

Strategy

Shadow Titan's power comes not only from its high damage output, but also from its tricky minions. Every shadow minion retains its AI and can induce the same status effects that a wild, normal variant can, meaning the Shadow Yuty will use fear inducing roar, Shadow Ravagers and Carnos will induce bleeding and Shadow Shadowmane can stun the player and their creatures.

Taking it out, even with a normal level 51  MEK is possible but very precise with little room for error.

The best tame to bring down this shadowy beast would be a File:Mod Fixed Extinction Nileodon.png Nileodon (Mod:Fixed Extinction) with its blood curse attacks that suck out health out of everything they bite. Remember to bring another tame that you could ride on anc that can get Titan's aggro, as only the most powerful Nileodons can kill it solo and when riding the crocodile, shadow minions can kill you.

If one doesn't have a File:Mod Fixed Extinction Nileodon.png Nileodon (Mod:Fixed Extinction), it's best to approach the Titan the same way a normal titan is approached - with super-bred powerful creatures or tamed  Titans.

The fight can be cheesed by hovering over Shadow Titan and shooting him with advanced ranged weaponry, as it won't attack targets above its head. Do keep in mind this strategy requires huge amounts of resources for ammunition and you can't let Shadow Titan anywhere near a corpse, as the wild ones can heal from harvesting them just like a normal wild creature.

Weaponry

High quality  Pump-Action Shotgun or  Tek Rifle will be sufficient support. However, if you do wish to bring the Titan down with weapons only, make sure to bring some copies of the chosen weaponry.

Dangers

Shadowmanes and  Velonasaurs can kill the player if not cautious.  Ravager's bleeding attacks can quickly drain health from your tames and the Titan itself does huge amounts of damage.

Weakness

This titan, while still strong, has less speed and range on its attacks than the File:Mod Fixed Extinction Fire Titan.png Fire Titan (Mod:Fixed Extinction). It can't catch up to the creatures as fast and shares some weaknesses, like not being able to walk over foliage.

Taming

Taming this one, as well as all other titans of Fixed Extinction is much different from taming a vanilla titan.

In order to claim a Shadow Titan, player must defeat one first. After killing the Kaiju, File:Mod Fixed Extinction True Shadow Rune.png True Shadow Rune (Mod:Fixed Extinction) will be given to player. This item can be used to summon a tamed version of Shadow Titan. Unlike vanilla Titans, Multiple wild and tamed Shadow Titans can exist at once.

Utility

Roles

  • King Titan fighter: Shadow Titan is a strong tame, rivaling vanilla Titans with its DPS and more than one being allowed to tame. It's certainly worth to at least consider bringing Shadow Titan before you take on the most powerful Titan of them all.
  • World boss and miniboss fighter: Fixed Extinction introduces many new threats, that require much resources and power to defeat. Where Shadow Titan can't defeat something, it still can make for a powerful support. Both File:Mod Fixed Extinction True Shadow Rune.png True Shadow Rune (Mod:Fixed Extinction) and the Titan itself can be transferred to another map, which makes it possible to take this beast to fight world bosses and minibosses on other maps.
  • War mount - Shadow Titan has much utility that can aid in raids. Ability to spawn Yutys, Shadowmanes and Stegosauruses, a spammable purple projectile attack that can cause chaos and ability to damage  Tek Structures make it an overall great tame to fight enemy tribes.

Spotlight

Notes/Trivia

  • While Shadow Titan is closeby, its theme will play. This music theme consists of the second and third song of the vs. A.G.O.T.I. mod for the game Friday Night Funkin' - Parasite and A.G.O.T.I., with protagonist's vocals changed to repeat the antagonist's.
    • This music will persist if the Titan was tamed with givetome command.
  • Shadow Titan is the only creature in Fixed Extinction, whose minions can't reproduce.
  • If an unclaimed Shadow Titan spawns minions, they will be unclaimed too and can be claimed by the player.
  • If spawned with console commands, Shadow Minions can be tamed with their respective methods, with the exception of Shadow Shadowmane (doesn't go to sleep) and Shadow Rock Drake (requires hatching an egg, which can't be obtained)
  • Tamed Shadow Titan can be knocked-out and if wild tamed version is spawned in, it will be tameable via knock-out and will eat meat and  Regular Kibble as taming food.
