Shadow Guardian is a new mini-boss added in Fixed Extinction.

Basic info

Behavior

Shadow Guardian appears on Wasteland, wandering its barren roads, mainly around Treatment Runnoff and general north of Desert Dome. It attacks small fries that big carnivores tend to aggravate onto.

Appearance

Shadow Guardian uses Atlas' Rock Elemental model with a few tweaks. It is made up of floating stones that form a humanoid shape with noticeably big and spiky and has spiky shoulders and head. Height of this creature is between that of a  Giganotosaurus and a  Mek. It has an object glowing with purple inside its body, which upon closer inspection, reveals itself to be an File:Mod Fixed Extinction Artifact of the Catastrophic.png Artifact of the Catastrophic (Mod:Fixed Extinction). Guardian's eyes are made up of  Shadowmane's powerful attack glow.

Color Scheme and Regions

The Shadow Guardian's range of its natural color scheme is unknown at this time, however its color regions are available. For demonstration, the regions below are colored red over an albino Shadow Guardian.

This information can be used to alter the Shadow Guardian's regions by entering cheat SetTargetDinoColor <ColorRegion> <ColorID> in the cheat console. For instance, cheat SetTargetDinoColor 1 6 would color the Shadow Guardian's "" magenta.

Combat

General

Shadow Guardian has many factors increasing its survivability - high health, high damage reduction and immunity to most status effects. It will use all of its abilities in an encounter.

Strategy

There are several workarounds for Shadow Guardian's tanky nature.

Vanilla  Mek and mod's Titanus Meks ignore the damage reduction, allowing to deal the full damage with all of their weaponry. File:Mod Fixed Extinction Titanus Mek.png Titanus Mek (Mod:Fixed Extinction) and its plasma projectiles can deal devastating amounts of damage against this creature.

A duo of a good level File:Carcharodontosaur.png Carcharodontosaur and File:Mod Fixed Extinction Nileodon.png Nileodon (Mod:Fixed Extinction) can beat this boss effortlessly. Carcha gains bloodrage by killing minions and works as a support damage dealer, while Nileodon sucks out Guardian's health percent by percent.

Weaponry

A  Tek Rifle and File:Chestpiece.png Chestpiece combo to shoot the guardian from afar isn't the worst idea if a good Nileodon is not an option. Remember to stack up on  Element, as the miniboss can drain huge amounts of it when tanking the Rifle.

Dangers

Shadow Guardian has impressive stats, which are only complimented by its abilities. A survivor that doesn't account for its strenghts when planning to fight is to be met with huge loss of resources.

Weakness

The Guardian, fortunately, can't spawn on levels higher than 1, which means it can't get any stronger than its base stats.
