The Tek Rifle is one of the Weapons in ARK: Survival Evolved. It is unlocked by defeating the Megapithecus (Beta), the
Manticore (Beta), the Ragnarok Arena (Beta),
Rockwell (Beta), the
Ice Titan, the
Crystal Wyvern Queen (Beta),
Rockwell Prime (Beta), or the
Dinopithecus King (Beta). Defeating the higher difficulty versions will also give the player the Tekgram.
The Tek Rifle rapidly fires explosive energy blasts using Element, with each unit supplying the gun with 50 shots. Although it possesses a much slower rate of fire than the
Assault Rifle, its shots deal over three times the damage, almost as much as the
Fabricated Sniper Rifle. Additionally, the Tek Rifle's shots are capable of damaging almost all types of structures.
The Tek Rifle does not need to be reloaded at any time, but when fired for too long without a break, it will overheat and must cool down before it can be used again. It takes 41 continuous shots to overheat the weapon.
The Tek Rifle also has a built-in scope that comes with a night vision function, making it perfect for fighting in dark places or at night.
The Tek Rifle has 80 Durability.

** IEDs are currently just about impossible to place on stone, metal, or Tek structures.
Notes
- The Tek Rifle's projectiles have longer travel times than other guns.
- The Tek Rifle's projectiles do area damage and will hit friendlies if friendly fire is turned on.
- There are heat indicators on the Tek Rifle in third-person and zoom mode that will allow you to regulate your weapon as to not overheat.
- While this weapon's base stats are better than most other ranged weapons, it is only possible to obtain higher Quality Tek Rifles (Ramshackle, Apprentice, etc...) in Extinction from
Orbital Supply Drops, killing Titans, or on Genesis via challenges.
- The Tek Rifle's projectiles possess no bullet drop, but will detonate once a max range is reached.
- Although the Tek Rifle does damage to Stone and Metal structures alike, it cannot damage
Auto Turrets. This is likely for game balance reasons since it has a higher range and its projectiles can't be shot down.
- The Tek Rifle, like all Tek technologies, cannot be used inside most Boss Arenas.
- The Tek Rifle loses 1 Durability every 20 shots and an additional 2 Durability when a projectile or its splash damage hits a harvestable resource node.
- A 296.6% Tek Rifle deals 711 damage per shot to creatures with no armor. With 40 shots, the tek rifle can do 28,440 damage if the target has no armor.
- The Tek Rifle is quite capable at destroying resource nodes, so exercise caution when firing.
Trivia
- According to Santiago in Genesis: Part 2, the popular Tek Rifle during the Element War was dubbed "AR-234: Titanhammer".
- In Extinction, Diana adds an addendum about how the URE version of the Tek Rifle is dubbed "A.P.R (Assault Pulse Rifle) 75 Stingrey".
