The Grenade is one of the Explosives in ARK: Survival Evolved. It is unlocked at Level 38 for 20 Engram Points.

The Grenade is a thrown explosive that detonates 5 seconds after the pin is pulled, dealing good damage. It is highly effective when used on weaker creatures, survivors, and weaker structures, though stronger targets will require multiple Grenades. Additionally, the Grenade will detonate and damage the user if it is not thrown in time.

Grenades are also used as ammunition for the  Tropeognathus Saddle.

The Grenade is superseded by the  Tek Grenade.

Notes

• The Grenade can be found in Level 35 purple Supply Crates.
• The Grenade's damage and radius makes it particularly useful against grouped up enemies.
• The Grenade can't be used underwater, but it can still be thrown into the water.
• Cosmetically, the player will occasionally toss the Grenade up a small bit if the player idles for long enough while holding it.
• The Grenade is one of two explosives that are crafted in the  Smithy, with the other one being the  Improvised Explosive Device.
