The Rocket Propelled Grenade is one of the explosives in ARK: Survival Evolved. It is fired using the  Rocket Launcher and  Rocket Turret.

Damage

The RPG deals 1400 damage to a creature without a saddle.

* The damage is greater than the health-points of structures of that material
** IEDs are currently just about impossible to place on stone, metal, or Tek structures.

Notes

  • Cheaper than  C4 Charge because it does not require  Electronics,  Hide,  Fiber and uses 35 less  Gunpowder, 15 less  Crystals. However Rockets require 7 more  Metal Ingots compared to C4 and takes 15 more  Cementing Paste.
  • According to the Steam Forums, Rockets are more designed to be used against buildings than dinos. It can be useful in caves against a flock of smaller dinos such as  Onycs, or can be used to enrage a  Giganotosaurus into dismounting its rider, but many users complain of unpredictable results when used against anything other than player-constructed objects.
  • You should keep in mind that Rocket Propelled Grenades, when used in closed quarters, can heavily damage your dinosaurs, or you. Be careful when shooting things at a close distance.
  • RPGs can be shot down by  Auto Turrets.
