The Flare Gun is one of the Tools in ARK: Survival Evolved. It is unlocked at Level 15 for 6 Engram Points.
The Flare Gun uses Sparkpowder to shoot bright, burning flares that light up a large area, making easier for others to find you. It provides much more light than other light sources like
Standing Torches or
Campfires. However, the Flare Gun is only good for one use, breaking after firing a single flare.
Notes
- The
Fireworks Flaregun Skin is a skin for the Flare Gun. It creates a patriotic firework effect when the flare reaches its highest point.
- When equipping the Flare Gun, there's a bug when the player tries to roll an invisible cylinder like with the
Simple Pistol.
- Flares will interrupt
Rocket Homing Missiles towards their positions.
- The Flare Gun is best used when fired directly above you.
- Flares shot from a Flare Gun last until they hit the ground.
- Flares deal no damage when fired at a creature or player.
- The Flare Gun can be colored using
Dyes, changing the flare's color as well as the light given to the area. White colored flares can make unexpected and exceptional flashbangs for those without access to Plant Species Z.
- It should be noted that a single Dye can colorize a single Flare Gun as well as a full stack of ten.
- The following is a list of different colors that can be used to dye the Flare Gun:
