The Tek Canteen is one of the Tools in ARK: Survival Evolved, being introduced the Genesis: Part 2 expansion pack. It is unlocked at Level 101 for 6 Engram Points.

The Tek Canteen holds a massive 900 units of  Water, three times as much as the standard  Canteen. It comes with two separate modes, a "hot" mode and a "cold" mode, which provide resistances to hot or cold temperatures depending on which mode it is in when drunk from. Additionally, drinking from a Tek Canteen in either mode provides a  Stamina drain reduction buff that lasts for 60 seconds.

Notes

• On Scorched Earth, the Tek Canteen, like all water containers, will slowly lose water over time.
• To switch between modes, hover over the Tek Canteen in the inventory and go down to the "mode" option, which will let you choose between the "hot" and "cold" modes.
• Drinking from a Tek Canteen in "hot" mode gives 421 hypothermal insulation and -210 hyperthermal insulation, while drinking from it in "cold" mode gives -210 hypothermal insulation and 421 hyperthermal insulation. Drinking from Tek Canteens in both "hot" and "cold" mode gives 211 hypothermal and hyperthermal insulation.
• To drink from the Tek Canteen, highlight it in your inventory and select Use Item, or put it on your hotbar and press the designated key. Players can drink from a filled Tek Canteen 9 times before it needs to be refilled.
• To refill the Tek Canteen, use it while standing in the rain or while standing in shallow water. You can also fill it by placing it in the inventory of a  Stone Irrigation Pipe - Tap or  Metal Irrigation Pipe - Tap.
• The Tek Canteen is one of the cheapest items crafted in the  Tek Replicator.
• Unlike the  Iced Canteen, the buff gained after drinking from a Tek Canteen will not stack. However, the timer on the Tek Canteen's buff lasts longer.
• Tek Canteens can be placed inside of  Feeding Troughs and  Tek Troughs. The reason for this is unknown, with it most likely being a bug.
