The Zip-Line Motor Attachment Skin, also called the Zip-Line Motor Attachment or just the Zip-Line Motor, is one of the armor attachment items in ARK: Survival Evolved, being introduced in the Aberration expansion pack. It is unlocked at Level 54 for 34 Engram Points.

The Zip-Line Motor Attachment Skin is used to ascend Zip-Lines created by a  Zip-Line Anchor, making it perfect for traveling without needing to climb or glide. It can be attached to any leg-slot armor piece by dragging it onto the desired leg armor piece. However, the Zip-Line Motor Attachment Skin requires  Gasoline to be used.

Notes

  • Wearing leggings with the Zip-Line Motor Attachment Skin equipped and pressing E near the lower end of a Zip-Line allows you to ascend it. Additionally, pressing E at any time while attached to a Zip-Line will detach you from it.
  • Unlike the  Glider Suit Skin, the Zip-Line Motor Attachment does not wear on the Durability of the armor piece to which it is attached.
  • One unit of Gasoline will slowly be consumed while ascending zip-lines, with an overlay in the bottom-right corner of the screen showing how much Gasoline is left. The Zip-Line Motor Attachment Skin can be fully refueled by dragging one Gasoline onto your pants once the motor is attached to them.
  • Both ascending and descending a Zip-Line with the Zip-Line Motor Attachment Skin uses Gasoline. You can save on fuel by removing the attachment when only needing to descend.
  • While using the Zip-Line Motor Attachment Skin you are free to look around and use weapons, unlike standard Zip-Line usage. Also unlike standard Zip-Line usage, the attachment allows you to remain stationary in the middle of a Zip-Line without using any Gasoline.
    • The ability to use weapons while Zip-Lining combined with the ability to remain stationary mid-Zip-Line can provide you with a stable and safe vantage point from which to fire on creatures that you wish to kill or render unconscious.
  • You are able to mount a Zip-Line and move around using the Zip-Line Motor Attachment even when encumbered and unable to walk or jump.
  • If you run out of Gasoline while riding a Zip-Line, you will lose the ability to move but will still remain attached to the Zip-Line. Further attempts to use Zip-Lines without Gasoline will still attach you, but you will not be able to move up or down the line. If you have Gasoline in your inventory when the Zip-Line Motor Attachment Skin runs out of fuel, the attachment will automatically consume another unit of Gasoline in order to refuel and keep moving.
