The Gas Mask is a head slot armor item in ARK: Survival Evolved. It is unlocked at Level 85 for 100 Engram Points.

The Gas Mask protects the user from various environmental poisons as well as the poisonous attacks of some creatures. However, its non-existent armor rating makes it not the best choice when it comes to general combat. Additionally, the Gas Mask's Durability will slowly drain when worn.

The Gas Mask provides 0 armor, 10 cold protection, and -2 heat protection. It has 50 Durability.

Notes

• The Gas Mask protects the wearer from the following things:
  •  Dilophosaur Spit
  •  Poison Grenades
  •  Tripwire Narcotic Traps
  • Swamp Fever
  •  Manticore quill projectiles
  •  Poison Wyvern and  Basilisk Spit
  • Poison gas in the Swamp Cave and the Lair
• When wearing the Gas Mask, an icon appears in the bottom-left corner of the HUD.
• The Gas Mask does not protect against spores in Aberration.
• The Gas Mask allows the wearer to see more clearly underwater. However, it is not advised to use it for this purpose as the  SCUBA Mask can accomplish this while not depleting durability.
• Due to its resource cost and low durability, it is usually not worth wearing the Gas Mask unless it's used for the above protection. The  Hazard Suit Hat is great alternative as it is much cheaper, unlocked at a lower level for less Engram Points, and does not lose durability when worn. However, the uses for its protection is limited only to the ranged attacks of Poison Wyverns and Basilisks.
