The Fabricator is used for creating high-end weapons, armor, and components.

Fuel

To run the Fabricator, one of the slots must hold  Gasoline. Gasoline lasts in the Fabricator for 15:00 and is not consumed from crafting. Since Gasoline materials can often be difficult to acquire (6  Oil + 5  Hide in a  Refining Forge), it is advised to use only 1 gasoline at a time as they continue burning through additional gasoline much like campfires consume wood. It is also worth to note that to "turn off" the Fabricator, depletes the Gasoline item on which the Fabricator was currently running. The Fabricator does not work underwater.

In Survival of the Fittest,  Flak Armor must also be crafted at Fabricator, not at Smithy.

Notes

  • Despite being made of metal, the fabricator is not treated as a metal structure.
  • The Fabricator is treated as a wooden structure and can not be damaged by hands, stone weapons, or non-explosive ranged attacks.
  • The following aggressive creatures can not damage the Fabricator:
  • The image used for the Fabricator is a lathe, which in real life can manufacture circular/cylindrical/round items, flat items, and more intricate designs. Depending on the type, lathes can work with wood, metal, and even clay (as a potter’s wheel). In-game it can make a plethora of electronic devices, which is not possible in real life.
  • On Scorched Earth the Fabricator can not be started during a thunderstorm.
  • Flak Armor used to be crafted in the Fabricator but that has now been changed to where it is now crafted in the Smithy.

The Fabricator is not currently paint-able, however this object may be re-mapped to include paint regions in a future update.
