Chitin Armor is one of the armor sets in ARK: Survival Evolved. It is unlocked at Level 37, costing 18 Engram points for the helmet and chestpiece and 15 Engram Points for the gauntlets, leggings and boots for a total of 81 Engram Points for the full set.
Chitin Armor provides good physical protection and minor cold protection, though it does make the user more susceptible to heat. It is a great early-midgame armor set for combat, able to take a good amount of punishment before breaking. Chitin Armor is also fairly easy to maintain, not requiring resources like 
Metal Ingots or 
Pelt.
A full set of Chitin Armor provides 250 armor, 42 cold protection, and -35 heat protection. Each piece of Chitin Armor has 50 Durability.

Notes
- Chitin Armor is far easier to craft than other armor sets made in the
Smithy as Chitin can easily be obtained from weaker invertebrates like 
Trilobites, 
Meganeura, and 
Titanomyrma. The Chitin obtained by killing a single 
Karkinos is often enough to craft multiple sets of Chitin Armor at once.
Keratin cannot be substituted for Chitin when crafting Chitin Armor.- Some players may consider mixing pieces of Chitin Armor with
Cloth Armor, 
Hide Armor, or 
Ghillie Armor to offset the environmental effects while still retaining some armor value.
