Scissors are one of the Tools in ARK: Survival Evolved. They are unlocked at Level 21 for 10 Engram Points.

Scissors are used for cutting the hair of survivors as well as giving it different Hairstyles. This process gives the user  Human Hair, which can be used as a substitute for  Pelt. Additionally, Scissors are used for shearing the  Wool from tamed  Ovis, which can also be used as a Pelt substitute.

Notes

• Scissors cannot make hair any longer than its current state.
• Scissors allow for the use of  Dye to color a survivor's Hairstyle.
• To use Scissors, use on PC, on PS4 and on Xbox.
• Scissors may be difficult to obtain for low level players as they require  Obsidian to craft, which is often found in dangerous areas.
• Scissors can only be used a few times before needing to be repaired.

Trivia

• Curiously, when you have Scissors in your hand while sprinting, they do not have a running animation, which could be a reference to how dangerous it is to do this. But it's hilarious due to the fact that there are more dangerous weapons and tools like pickaxes and swords that do have sprint animation in the game.
