Soap can be used to remove dye from previously painted items and structures.
Recipe
Soap is made by placing:
- 3 Polymer or Organic Polymer
- 2 Oil
in a Cooking Pot or Industrial Cooker. When crafting, be sure to include a water filled Container with at least 25% water or that the cooker is connected to a water source.
Usage
In order to use it, you have to stand in front of the structure you want to remove the paint off. Long-press E// and select the Use Soap to Remove Paint from the wheel menu which will remove paint from all regions. Using Soap will poison you, even in the hotbar. To remove dye from an item (like armor), drag the soap over it.
In ARK: Survival Ascended, you can use Soap directly from the Spray Painter by pressing N or double-tapping .
Utility
If you take the soap and grind it in an industrial grinder, you will get organic polymer in return, allowing you to use soap as a storage method for organic polymer, as soap doesn't expire.
Notes
- Since each soap is used once, it can be a very expensive way to clean more than several structures. A much cheaper alternative is simply painting over with a Paintbrush or Spray Painter and sometimes, just replacing it.
- Soap removes the item textures from Tek Dedicated Storage as well as the Top & Bottom border textures. You can reset the item texture by clearing the items in the storage and putting them back, but the top and bottom borders can't be restored.
- Applying Soap on the Paintbrush will empty it even though it still shows uses left on it.
- You can acquire the engram through admin command by changing the last 0->1:
