The Tranq Spear Bolt is a torpor-inducing type of ammunition. It can only be fired from the  Harpoon Launcher.

It can be used to easily knock out creatures underwater. However, it is not effective when used on land, as it will not travel very far.

They do approximately 36 damage per hit and induce 300 torpor. Weapon damage modifier affects base damage and Torpor the same. For example a 300% harpoon gun would multiply both the base damage and torpor by 3x.

Notes

• After firing Tranq Spear Bolts, it is possible to pick them back up as regular Spear Bolts (if they don't break).
• Although it is made from Spear Bolt, it cannot be loaded in a Ballista.
• Will eventually get outmatched by high-quality Crossbows with their Tranq Arrow, since there is no known way to get a high-quality Harpoon Launcher(Beacon and Lootcrates do not drop it).
