The Electric Prod is one of the Weapons in ARK: Survival Evolved. It is unlocked at Level 95 for 60 Engram Points.

While it deals minimal damage, the Electric Prod deals massive amounts of  Torpor to any target it strikes. It can instantly knock out smaller creatures and  Humans who aren't wearing  Riot Armor. However, the Electric Prod can only deal one hit at a time, breaking after a single strike. To make it functional again, it needs to be refilled with 8  AnglerGel at a  Fabricator.

Notes

• The Item Quality of the Electric Prod influences the amount of Torpor dealt. Prior to a certain patch, it does not affect its repair cost.
  • Now high-quality Electric Prods cost more to repair, as it would need a larger battery to release a greater charge.  AnglerGel is still the only material needed to repair it.
• The Electric Prod cannot be used underwater.
• While highly effective at dealing with smaller threats, the Electric Prod should not be used when attempting to knock out larger creatures like  Rexes.
• The Electric Prod will still lose a portion of durability if it hits nothing.
• Despite being a melee weapon, the amount of Torpor dealt by the Electric Prod is not influenced by character melee damage modifiers, levels, or food buffs. It is influenced by the damage % of the weapon or blueprint. Armor, however, reduces the amount of Torpor received.

Trivia

• Though different in design, the idea for the weapon may have come from the Jurassic Park franchise, where electrified prods are frequently seen being used to control or combat dinosaurs non-lethally.
