The Wooden Shield is one of the shields in ARK: Survival Evolved. It is unlocked at Level 12 for 7 Engram Points.

The Wooden Shield is a useful early-game item used to block damage from the front. It comes in especially handy when dealing with minor threats like  Dilos and  Raptors, though it quickly falls apart when faced with more powerful enemies.

The Wooden Shield has 250 Durability.

The Wooden Shield is superseded by the  Metal Shield.

Notes

• The Wooden Shield is the first shield players can unlock.
• The Wooden Shield cannot be used while in water.
• You cannot drop a  Torch while the Wooden Shield is equipped to your offhand.
• As of version 223.2, The Wooden Shield does not take damage from  Grenades or  Rocket Propelled Grenades, the user still does however.
