Nileodon is a new creature added in Fixed Extinction.
Basic info
Behavior
Nileodon spawns rarely in Wasteland, seen on the South-west side of the map near Sulfur Fields, Nileodon will slowly make its way towards its target like a Sarco would. It acts as every other aggressive creature in its area, preying on herbivores and fighting carnivores only if they accidentally damage each other.
Appearance
Nileodon is a giant crocodile with glowing crystal-like spikes and pattern covering its back. Five spikes sprout from its head in a crown-like shape and element veins are present on its arms, legs, belly and chin.
Color Scheme and Regions
The Nileodon's range of its natural color scheme is unknown at this time, however its color regions are available. For demonstration, the regions below are colored red over an albino Nileodon.
This information can be used to alter the Nileodon's regions by entering cheat SetTargetDinoColor <ColorRegion> <ColorID>
in the cheat console. For instance, cheat SetTargetDinoColor 1 6
would color the Nileodon's "" magenta.

Abilities
- Bite, deals 90 base damage, inflicts blood curse, that lasts 5 seconds and drains a percent of creature's health. Can be used to quickly turn around.
- Does a death roll in a similar manner to a Sarco, deals 200 damage, inflicts another blood curse effect that lasts 9 seconds and drains a percent of creature's health.
X - Cosmetic hiss.
Left Ctrl - Does a roar that increases its damage by 10% for 10 seconds.
Nileodon has a damage reduction of 40%.
Blood curse effects don't restore health like in the case of Blood Crystal Wyvern, have the same health drain speed and work on everything, including creatures normally resistant to bleed.
Combat
General
Nileodon is one of, if not the most powerful creature in the entire mod and therefore, needs a specific approach. Nileodon has two blood curse effects, that may not kill your creatures, but at least will leave them much weaker. The number one rule is to never approach it with your most powerful tame that has high health.
Strategy
Best strategy to kill Nileodon is using ranged attacks outside of the creature's range but it's also possible to kill it in a melee fight with a fast enough creature.
Carcharodontosaurus is probably the most reliable way of taking down a Nileodon in terms of melee combat. When in Bloodrage state, Carcha will regenerate health so fast, the blood curses won't be able to take any of its health.
Mek is the closest you can get to second place. Even the machinery isn't safe from Nileodon's blood curse and Mek will suffer great damage when bitten. If you plan on fighting with the sword only, remember to keep your distance from the jaw.
Weaponry
Nileodon takes about 10% of damage from every ranged weapon except for tek guns, which have a normal 40% reduction. Tek Chestpiece can be brought to hover over the creature and shoot from above, but this isn't necessary, as the crocodile is slow enough for you to outrun it.
Dangers
Nileodon's blood curses can quickly drain a big portion of your health. Important thing to note is that these curses work on every creature, including Bosses and Titans as well.
Weakness
Nileodon has really poor maneuverability, being really slow and having poor turning radius, just as Sarco does.
Taming
Taming a Nileodon is really tedious and expensive. The crocodile is a Knock-out tame but takes about 10% of normal damage for every gun, except for tek firearms, resulting in 10% of Torpor being applied by Crossbow and Longneck Rifle.
It's recommended to trap the crocodile and knock it out with a tame that has torpor-inducing attacks. The best creature for this job would be a Basilisk, but that requires transferring it from another map. If player can't transfer creatures into the map, they can use other tames that have effective torpor-inducing attacks and spawn on the map. This includes tames like Titanoboa and Troodon, although, for safety reasons, it's recommended to use rideable tames, like a Pulmonoscorpius, Beelzebufo, Thorny Dragon or Equus.
Preferred Food
Nileodon can be tamed only with the following items and will eat only those when tamed:

Utility
Roles
- Creature destroyer: Nileodon's blood curse can prove to be devastating in every possible matchup. One crocodile bite can get rid of thousands of health points in matter of seconds, no matter the creature.
- Titan Killer: Nileodon's niche, as stated in official mod's guide, is a "Titan War mount" and the creature certainly lives up to its name. The blood curses drain halth from Titans, including those added by the mod and of course, King Titan. Due to the creature's poor mobility, it's nearly impossible to dodge even slow Titan attacks and damage is percent-based anyway, therefore it's best to level up only Health for increased survivability.
- Genesis Alpha Brute Killer: Nileodon's tanky nature allows it to take a hit from Alpha Brute or even serve as a mission's tank entirely if properly leveled and equipped.
- Miniboss/World Boss Killer: Nileodon has too much drag weight to be teleported to boss arenas, but can come as a big help when fighting world bosses. It can enter Beyla's and Steinbjörn's caves and help defeat mod's powerful mini-bosses, like File:Mod Fixed Extinction Overgrowth Titanosaur.png Overgrowth Titanosaur .
- Alpha Killer: The element crocodile can bring down more tanky Alpha Creatures, making tribute acquirement a relative breeze.
- Giga/Carcha Killer: Nileodon with high enough health can take on one of these beasts and prevail, mind Giganotosaurus' Gnashed effect, which deals percent-based damage.
- Tank: Nileodon has great health and in addition to its 40% damage reduction and 90% bullet damage reduction, it can use a saddle and therefore increase its resistance even more.
- Element Node/OSD Defender: Nileodon can make enemies bleed out and survive most of Corrupted Creatures' attacks. It can prove to be very useful in defending harder nodes and drops but beware of Corrupted Wyverns' breath attacks.
