Music Boxes are new structures added in Fixed Extinction. They are small boxes of different shapes and sizes that can store some items and play music.

Obtaining

Most of Music Boxes can be crafted in File:Mod Fixed Extinction Fixed Extinction Bench.png Fixed Extinction Bench (Mod:Fixed Extinction) with the exception of Shadow Titan's and Gilbert's Music Boxes, which is obtained by killing File:Mod Fixed Extinction Shadow Titan.png Shadow Titan (Mod:Fixed Extinction) and File:Mod Fixed Extinction Gilbert.png Gilbert (Mod:Fixed Extinction) respectively.

Usage

Music Boxes act as  Storage Boxes but can additionally play music from Extinction DLC, as well as music used in Fixed Extinction mod:

  • Sanctuary music box plays Not So Sanctuary - Extinction's battle theme for Sanctuary.
  • Desert x Ice music box plays Fire and Ice - Extinction's battle theme for Desert Dome and Snow Dome.
  • Wasteland music box plays Corruption Kills - Extinction's battle theme for Wasteland.
  • Titan music boxes play themes for their respective Vanilla Titan.
  • Shadow Titan music box plays its theme consisting of two old tracks from a mod to the game Friday Night Funkin' called A.G.O.T.I..
  • Megalovania music box plays Megalovania - a track from the game Undertale used by one of mod's bosses - File:Mod Fixed Extinction Gilbert.png Gilbert (Mod:Fixed Extinction).

In order for Music Box to play, one has to place inside at least 2  Fiber. One fiber will be consumed to activate the music box. Putting only one fiber inside will result in it being consumed without effect.

Due to their size, Music Boxes can be used in PvP as small, hidden chests for the most important items of the tribe like ascendant blueprints. Titan Music Boxes would be the best for this job, as they are the smallest music boxes and also can be placed very close to each other.

Notes/Trivia

  • Shadow Titan's and Gilbert's music boxes use placeholder crafting recipes despite not having either obtainable blueprints nor engrams.
  • Music Boxes will not stop playing the music when picked up, destroyed or walked away from. They will stop only when the track they're playing ends.
  • Music Boxes don't play their tracks for the second time automatically, no matter if they still have fiber or not, and need to be manually activated second time.
  • Sunken Forest Fights, King Titan and the theme of mod's File:Mod Fixed Extinction Fire Titan.png Fire Titan (Mod:Fixed Extinction) are the only tracks that fit into types of music played by Music Boxes (Sunken Forest Fights being a biome-specific battle theme and the latter two being themes of both vanilla and mod's  Titans) which don't have their respective variant of this structure.
  • The Fixed Extinction/Music Boxes is treated as a thatch structure and can be damaged by anything except non-explosive ranged attacks.
