Combat
General
Theo Tyrannus' wild stats are somewhere in between Rex and a tamed, unbred Giganotosaurus. This, paired with its weakened and bleeding debuffs, makes it a formidable foe to take on.
Strategy
Remember to always make sure your surroundings are clear, this is especially important in Theo's case, as wasteland with Fixed Extinction mod has many more creatures that may attempt to attack the theropod, most probably resulting in the attacking creature being killed and eaten by Theo, restoring its enormous health pool to full.
Given Theo's vast arsenal of powerful melee attacks, the optimal way of fighting it would be to attack from a distance. Simply standing on a rock above and shooting the creature down with Velonasaur would be enough.
This theropod has a huge amount of health, going over 10 thousand on wild specimens with levels above 100, so another viable strategy would be to use a Thylacoleo. Bite it, run away and repeat it until Theo bleeds to death.
Despite all the power this creature has, a direct, melee approach to a Theo Tyrannus isn't impossible. A Mek, being immune to bleeding, can easily take on even multiple Theos at once.
Weaponry
Like mentioned above, ranged weaponry and/or a Mek is what you need to take this creature down. Additionally, a Tek Chestpiece can come in handy to be able to hover over Theo.
Dangers
High base damage, paired with bleeding and weakness debuffs, can quickly wreck up damage on any of Theo's potential enemies. Do not underestimate it.
Weakness
Theo's attack are a bit clunky and sometimes have a lag when dealing damage or completely miss the target.
Taming
With stats able to match a tamed Giganotosaurus or Carcharodontosaurus, its no wonder anyone would like to tame this powerhouse.
To take control of the theropod, one must passively feed it Mindwipe Tonic.
Utility
Roles
- Mid-game Giga and Carchar Alternative: While not as strong as a Giganotosaurus or Carcharodontosaurus in terms of raw damage and doesn't have a saddle for additional armor points like these two do, Theo can make up for it with the its debuffs, additionally, it's much easier to tame, appearing on the map more commonly and not requiring huge amounts of torpor-inducing ammunition, special kibble nor going through complicated taming processes. Just remember that Theo can't do everything that this end-game powerful duo can, below there are listed several examples in which case the Theo Tyrannus can replace a Giga or Carchar:
- War Mount: Theo Tyrannus can be bred, has great stats and, although slowly and with one attack, damage Tek Tier buildings. One can make a very good use of its abilities to try and negate potential buffs the enemy might try to use.
- Higher difficulty Element Node/OSD' Defender: Corrupted Creatures attacking harder Element Nodes and Orbital Supply Drops tend to have high amounts of health, meaning that bleed and increased damage are of priceless help. Take several Theos with you, as their AI and attacks can be unreliable at times.
- Alpha and Genesis Brute Killer: Theo Tyrannus can aid in fighting Alpha and Brute creatures pretty well. While weakened debuff doesn't affect Alpha Brute creatures too much, it can still be devastating on gamma and beta Brutes and normal Alpha creatures.
