This short introductory sentence above the table of contents should include the creature's name and pronunciation, as well as its status as a creature, which DLC it has been introduced in, and a very short summary of its abilities/utility. For example:
The Doedicurus (dee-dik-YOO-russ) is one of the mammals.

Dossier

This section is intended to be an exact copy of what the survivor Helena Walker, the author of the dossiers, has written. There may be some discrepancies between this text and the in-game creature.

Known Information

This is for the text on the dossier image that relates to neither wild nor domesticated creatures, but is just general info.

Domesticated

This is for the text on the dossier image written underneath "Domesticated".

Appearance

Add a description for the creature. Try and keep it limited to in-game appearance and avoid simply copying from Wikipedia or some other site not related to the game.

Color Scheme and Regions

This section should only contain the PaintRegions template:This section displays the Style guide/Creatures's natural colors and regions. For demonstration, the regions below are colored red over an albino Style guide/Creatures. The colored squares shown underneath each region's description are the colors that the Style guide/Creatures will randomly spawn with to provide an overall range of its natural color scheme. Hover your cursor over a color to display its name and ID.

This information can be used to alter the Style guide/Creatures's regions by entering cheat SetTargetDinoColor <ColorRegion> <ColorID> in the cheat console. For instance, cheat SetTargetDinoColor 0 6 would color the Style guide/Creatures's "shell and plates" magenta.

Behavior

Add a description of how the creature behaves. Does it attack anything it sees? Is it a passive creature that runs when threatened? Maybe it does something unique like throwing poo(Mesopithecus) or roll into an impenetrable ball(Doedicurus)?

Abilities

This section should describe attacks and abilities using the AttackInfo format. In case of a high amount of abilities, where a distinction between active and passive can be made, there should be respective "Active" and "Passive" sub-sections in that order.

Base Stats and Growth

This table contains the stats a creature has at Level 1, as well as the amount that each stat increases by when it is leveled up both in the wild and when domesticated.

Wild Stats Level-up

Type in values of a wild creature to see on which stats it's emphasized. Green values on a high-level creature are very good for breeding. If you have already tamed your creature you can try to recover the breeding stats with an external tool.[1]

Style guide/Creatures
The stat-calculator does not work in the mobile-view, see here for alternatives: Apps

Note that after the creature is tamed it gets bonuses on some stats depending on the taming effectiveness. This makes it hard to retrieve the levels on a tamed creature, so this tool is only for wild ones, but gives a first impression, how well the stats are distributed.

Combat

How should this creature be fought with? What weaknesses does it have? What weapons or creatures work best, and which don't? What attacks should the survivor be wary of?

Drops

What can be gathered by harvesting the creature? These items should be bulleted (with ItemList) and link to the item they are referring to.

Taming

How is the creature tamed? Is it tamed violently or non-violently?

What does the creature prefer to eat? Does it have a favorite Kibble? Does it prefer Crops or Berries, and if so, which ones?

  1.  Kibble (Dilo Egg)
  2.  Crops
  3.  Mejoberry

Does the creature have something about it that makes taming difficult/different, such as exceptionally high movement speed or torpor?

Utility

What roles does the creature fill? Is it a good tank that can take a lot of damage? Does its high Weight stat make it a good pack animal?

Harvesting

What resources can the creature gather? The resource-gathering is ranked on a 5-star-ranking.

Cloning

A cloning calculator should be put here when the data is eventually extracted from game files.

Notes/Trivia

  • Add notes and fun facts about the creature, as a bulleted list. Examples include:
  • This creature's name means...[2]
  • There is a bug that causes this creature to...
  • The dossier is incorrect in saying that...

Gallery

This goes at the bottom of the page and contains various images of the in-game creature, official spotlight videos, and optionally player-made tutorials (which must not violate the Wiki rules). You can add your own images here as long as they don't violate the Wiki rules, but if a page has too many images, space may be limited to those deemed "higher quality".

The tabber should be removed if only one tab is used.

Tutorials here must not violate the Wiki rules, and should not be added excessively.

Template

If you're creating a new creature page, you can easily copy this template and simply fill in the information you have.

For the Infobox, all fields except "name", the "habitat" fields, and "rideable comment", "breedable comment", and "tameable comment" are automatically populated from Module:Dv/data.
