The Refrigerator is an upgraded version of the  Preserving Bin. It is used to increase the spoil timer on perishables like various foods, food ingredients, eggs, honey and medicines.

The Refrigerator requires a connection to a powered  Electrical Outlet to function. It has the capacity for 80 stacks of items. Food in the Refrigerator has its spoil timer multiplied by 100. For example:  Raw Meat spoils in 10:00, but when placed in the Refrigerator, the spoil timer will be increased to 16:40:00. For full info and timings, see Spoilage.

Placing a  Cryopod with a charge on it into a Refrigerator will halve the discharge rate thereby doubling the time to zero charge for the Cryopod. Note that the Refrigerator does not charge a Cryopod. But it can be used until you unlock the Cryofridge.

Unlike the Preserving Bin, the Refrigerator can not convert Cooked Meats into Jerky.

Notes

  • The Refrigerator is treated as a wooden structure and can not be damaged by hands, stone weapons, or non-explosive ranged attacks.
  • The following aggressive creatures can not damage the Refrigerator:
