The Snakepit is a region in the Fjordur DLC.

Overview

The cave’s entrance is at (49.42/14.33) on Bolbjord island, along the shore.

The atmosphere is noxious, so that you need to wear a  Gas Mask, and very hot (40 °C / 104 °F). Neither a (powered)  Tek Helmet nor a  Hazard Suit Hat work. (Equipment from Islands Swamp Cave needs to be tested)

The path to the artifact is quite easy. At the only fork keep left along the main path. To the right you find a little water tunnel leading to two runes and cave crates.

Recommended equipment

•  Gas Mask
•  Grappling Hook or  Climbing Pick as the way to the Artifact is partially upon basins. Or other means to climb a ledge, like a  Megalania,  Thylacoleo, a  Zip-Line Anchor(/ Ravager) or simply fly there with a  Tek Chestpiece.

Recommended tames

•  Baryonyx (amphibious).
•  Megatherium because of the numerous insects in there.
