The NU Seeker features a unique taming method using chargelight, and grants survivors aerial mobility when tame.

Appearance

The normal version is identical to vanilla. The R-Seeker is patterned by flowing, split tendril like stripes, and the X-Seeker is sprinkled with starry effects down its back, fins and wings. Both can be found in far more vibrant colours than their normal counterparts, with male Lunar Seekers having warmer, reddish colours, and females featuring blues and purples more prominently.

Taming

Seekers are tamed non-violently, rather than through the usual methods.

Seekers are tamed with Charge Light, either by throwing Plant Species Z Fruit (which release charge light on impact), or by using the Charge Lantern on them directly. Be cautious when taming, and keep moving if you are on foot, since they will still be aggressive towards survivors while being tamed. Passive charge sources such as lightpets and placed charge lanterns do not gain taming progress.

- Gliding ability while shoulder-mounted - No actual Mate Boost modifiers on wild versions, tamed will have the same modifiers as normal. - Surface Seekers can be tamed and will automatically convert themselves to the normal Seeker post-tame.

Utility

When shoulder-mounted, the Seeker acts like a mix between the Archaeopteryx and a Glider Suit. R will toggle hovering, which will automatically activate when jumping or falling off an edge, unless disabled with G. This allows a survivor to keep their hands free while hovering in the air, which is useful when taming to hold a safe point with clear angles to shoot from. Using the Spacebar will toggle gliding. When using the Tek Chestpiece, you can hover, but not glide. This is due to both being based off buffs using input from the run and jump keys, and the end result is buggy when combined.

Notes/Trivia

  • Despite having genders, wild Seekers do not receive mate boost damage and resistance modifiers. Tamed Seekers retain the bonuses.
  • Surface Seekers can be tamed and will automatically convert themselves to the normal Seeker post-tame.
