The No Untameables Glowbug has enhanced charge production utilities compared to its vanilla counterpart, and the ability to keep Nameless at bay without attracting Seekers.

Appearance

They now have proper colorization and use a new colourset. When a vanilla dye is used in their inventory, Glowbugs will change the color of region 5 to match the dye's coloration. This blends with their natural emissive colors and allows for unobtainable bright colors, particularly purples, to be visible on the Glowbugs. Using Soap will remove all coloration from the region. R-Glowbugs have a ringed abdomen, striped legs and antennae, and scattered, glowing spots on their wings.

Taming

Glowbugs are a standard KO tame, preferring to eat Plant Z Seeds. Due to their low health, be sure to not use a weapon that is too high damage. They have low torpor, so don't take many shots to knock unconscious.

Utility

  • Charge Source: Can be harvested for charge just like vanilla, and additionally charge batteries placed within their inventory. Since they can be tamed and thus transferred, they make great sources for charging  Charge Batteries on other maps. Similarly to other lightpets, their max charge capacity and speed of regeneration scales with their stats- however, unlike normal lightpets, they do not use charge radius.
  • Nameless Repellent: Glowbugs can be picked up and carried on shoulders, where they will prevent wild Nameless from aggroing as long as they haven't already unburied and targeted the survivor. This weakened charge will not attract  Seeker (Mod:No Untameables)s, but will also not weaken Reapers or Nameless, only preventing detection by the latter.
