The Eurypterid, often shortened to the Euryp, has new variants and can generate pearls in their inventory. In ARK: Survival Ascended, they also function as a speedy aquatic taming mount.
Appearance
The Eurypterid can be found in a variety of random sizes. They spawn in red, brown and orange, with uncommon purples. The Aberrant Eurypterid has a glow on its spines, legs, and in a gradient over its back. The R variant can be found in a massive array of colours, almost every colour other than drab greens and browns. Their legs are spotted with ringed splotches, and wide, rounded diamond shapes run down their iridescent back alongside curving swirls.
Color Scheme and Regions
Behavior
If INI enabled, Eurypterid can be madee unable to leave the water, which is particularly relevant for locations such as Viking Bay where hordes of Eurypterid can often be found on the beaches.
Abilities
In ARK: Survival Evolved, abilities are identical to the vanilla version. For information, see the vanilla page. In the ARK: Survival Ascended version of the mod, they can be ridden if they are above 1.0 size, with spacebar enabling swimming mode.

Taming
For general information about domesticating a wild creature, see: Taming
Eurypterids can be tamed non-violently, rather than through the usual methods, but can also be tamed via KO. Due to their incredibly potent sting, passive taming can be dangerous, but it is possible as long as a survivor keeps as much distance as possible when approaching to feed. They prefer to eat Simple Kibble but will also accept meat with the typical effectiveness of other carnivores. If enabled in the INI, they can also be tamed with the Fish Basket, but be aware that this results in the same bugs as all Fish Basket tames, and they do not gain taming effectiveness.
Utility
Aquatic Taming: With extremely high torpor for low damage, the Eurypterid makes excellent assistance for knocking out creatures. While on land their slow speed means their utility it limited, in the water they are much faster and the only concern is their low health. This role is particularly well performed in the ARK: Survival Ascended version, where they can also be ridden if they are 1.0 size or larger. Resource Farm: Tame Eurypterids will generate Silica Pearls and Black Pearls in their inventory.

Notes/Trivia
- If used with the Additional Aberrant Dinos mod, the NU version will spawn instead of AAD's as long as it is higher in the load order
