Dossier

This specimen is peculiar for its preference to grow in occluded areas, such as beneath the canopy of the redwoods or in the shadow of Red Peak. While having an appearance somewhere between a bush and a flower, it would be more aptly compared to a bed of prehensile tentacles. Each of the Drosera's tentacles is lined with fine hair that is laced in a mix of chemicals that inflicts a variety of effects upon those who fall within its reach.

Fortunately, wild drosera do not seem to mature beyond their juvenille stage, and are nothing more than a minor nuisance when encountered - slowing and lightly sedating creatures that pass through.

Domestication

The Drosera gains Farming Effectiveness while nearby to sunlight obstructions, such as overhanging rocks, buildings and ceilings, as a direct reversal to typical plants. That said, however, there is no penalty for placing them in normal locations.

Usage
  • Mature Drosera are mechanically similar to Wooden/Metal Spikes, dealing damage to enemy units that move nearby or attack.
    • Does not apply a knockback.
    • Does not obstruct unit collision.
  • Damage dealt by the Drosera also applies torpidity over 10 seconds.
  • Capable of harvesting corpses in a comparable quantity to the  Sabertooth.
  • Passively provides a 400x spoil multiplier to consumables within its inventory.
    • As with other crop plots, only seeds and fertilizer can be placed within the crop plot, so the spoil multipler is only applied to things it gathers personally.
