The Giganotosaurus is completely visually reworked with a focus on appearing intimidating and fierce, matching its imposing, more upright posture- with thicker arms, a more defined head and crest, and heavier armored scales and spine. It additionally has new tail swipe and stomp attacks.
Appearance
Towering above even the Tyrannosaurus, the Giganotosaurus is a gargantuan theropod with bulky limbs tipped by curved, yellowed claws. Its hide is protected by thick scales, accented with larger, rounder feature scales on its sides and forming spikes behind its jaw. The Giga sports a lacrimal crest of keratin, tapering toward the nose and followed by a smaller pair above the eye. Behind the eyes, it fades into a ridge of scutes running down the length of the spine, widening behind the hips before growing smaller and eventually terminating roughly halfway down its tail. Ridges beneath its jaws fade into flatter scales lying across the belly found in pale browns and tans, and the hind legs are plated with a second set of wide scutes on their front side. They are primarily found in greens and greys, with whites and dusty tones being rarely seen. Their backs are mottled by dark grey and brown striping, with the snout and spinal ridge being found in a variety of vibrant reds and oranges on males, and dark blues on females.
Color Scheme and Regions
Behavior
Aside from when a survivor has a Giganotosaurus Heart in their inventory (which will initiate the Taming sequence), their behavior is the same as the vanilla version.

Rage
The Giga's rage determines a health regeneration boost, scaling with the percentage of rage it currently has up to a maximum of 50hp per second. For example, 50% rage is 25 health per second.
Enemy Health Damage Boost
As the target's health gets lower, the damage the Giga deals to the target increases, up to a maximum of 20%.
Armor Bypass
The Giganotosaurus' attacks ignore the natural armor of creatures such as the Rock Elemental.

Wild Stats Level-up
Type in values of a wild creature to see on which stats it's emphasized. Green values on a high-level creature are very good for breeding. If you have already tamed your creature you can try to recover the breeding stats with an external tool.[1]
The stat-calculator does not work in the mobile-view, see here for alternatives: Apps
Note that after the creature is tamed it gets bonuses on some stats depending on the taming effectiveness. This makes it hard to retrieve the levels on a tamed creature, so this tool is only for wild ones, but gives a first impression, how well the stats are distributed.
Combat
The same strategies can be employed as the vanilla version.
Rage
Alongside the passive health regeneration, the Giga gains the ability to perform a powerful double stomp when it reaches maximum rage. Upon reaching the maximum rage, it will enter that state for 35 seconds before draining completely. All other Gigas nearby will become enraged, but they will only dismount their riders and attack allies if there are enough, with the default being more than 2 required to rage. This amount is configurable with the config:
[PaleoArk]
GigaBerserkThreshold
The formula followed for the rage amount gained per attack is as follows:
1maximum Health of the Giga
Drops
- Harvest
- Guaranteed Special Loot
Taming
The Giganotosaurus cannot be KOed conventionally, and must be tamed by challenging it to a fight until it exhausts itself. To initiate the taming, the Giga must be approached while a player is holding a Giganotosaurus Heart. It will first sniff the air, and then proceed to challenge the survivor by slapping its tail into the ground and roaring. The survivor who holds the heart will find one of them consumed, and then receive a notification that they have been challenged. To KO the Giga, it must be allowed to damage tamed creatures and will gain torpidity for every successful bite. As such, high health tames such as the Brontosaurus are recommended to tank. The total torpor gained is determined by the amount of stamina the attack cost * 10, with this amount being doubled when the Giga is enraged. After it eventually falls asleep, taming then uses the normal preferred foods.

Ingredients for Exceptional Kibble: 1 × Extra Large Egg, 5 × Fiber, 1 × Focal Chili, 10 × Mejoberry, 1 × Rare Flower, 1 × Water
Utility
Many of the utilities overlap with the vanilla version.
- Boss Tank: A pair of Gigas can be useful to assist in boss fights, with their high health pools, damage, and regeneration from rage which can easily be stacked in the high-damage scenario of a boss fight. While more than two will cause them to rage and turn on the boss army, a mateboosted pair can draw the fire of a boss in relative safety while the bulk of the army wears the boss down.
