- Wild
WILD: The Bubblefish is astoundingly stupid. It simply drifts around not even seeming to care about food, and eventually gets picked off by predators. And despite tracing their movements for long periods, they do absolutely nothing. But, for some bizarre reason, they still remain alive, and looking on the seafloor, every so often you can find a clump of their eggs. While being extremely stupid, some do have a use for them. Their transparent bellies are often harvested for a resource many have named “blubber” which is stretchy and strong. Many hunt them down and use “blubber” to make air sacs and pontoons.
- Domesticated
DOMESTICATED: When I first saw a tamed bubblefish, I was extremely surprised, I had assumed they were not intelligent enough to be tamed. It turns out that they're not. However, you can still reproduce the effect of a tamed animal by simply grabbing them as you swim by, and they will just go along with it, being helpless to do anything anyway. I immediately realized a use for this, which is simply to farm “blubber” in high quantities. Upon further inquiry, I discovered that the Bubblefish has one more use. Simply enough, when brought onto land, or even just out of the water, it takes a huge gulp of air, apparently able to breathe pure air too. It holds its mouth closed tight when back underwater, evidently finding it easier to breathe air then filter it out of the water. Some have started using this habit to their advantage. Sticking their head inside its mouth, allowing them to have a large supply of O2 underwater, at the cost of slightly reduced visibility.
Behavior
Bubblefish floats mindlessly, completly vulnrable to anything hostile
When tamed, Bubblefish dosent need food, or any other care, and has no attacks.
Appearance
The bubblefish is a sphere shaped fish. It is easily spotted from a distance due to its often vibrant color, and the semitransparency makes it stand out from everything else. It has a derpy cute face, and is often found with one or two others swimming aimlessly.
Color Scheme and Regions
This section displays the Bubblefish's natural colors and regions. For demonstration, the regions below are colored red over an albino Bubblefish. The colored squares shown underneath each region's description are the colors that the Bubblefish will randomly spawn with to provide an overall range of its natural color scheme. Hover your cursor over a color to display its name and ID.
This information can be used to alter the Bubblefish's regions by entering cheat SetTargetDinoColor <ColorRegion> <ColorID>
in the cheat console. For instance, cheat SetTargetDinoColor 0 6
would color the Bubblefish's "main body" magenta.

Combat
This section describes how to fight against the Bubblefish.
General
Bubblefish can found wandering the shallower oceans, rivers and lakes and cannot attack, and is oblivious to everything. It has rather low heath, and can be easily taken out by anything.
Strategy
No strategy is needed to take on a Bubblefish, though you may want to check your surroundings for other threats
Weaponry
Almost anything is highly effective against the Bubblefish, as it is incredibly weak and oblivious
Dangers
Some creatures attacking the Bubblefish may redirect to you, but the Bubblefish itself poses no threat
Weakness
Low health and clueless nature make Bubblefish easy prey
Taming
The Bubblefish is tamed by grabbing it out of the water which will instantly tame it at 100% efficiency. While very easy to tame, it is important to be sure that no potentially hazardous creatures are about to attack your new friend before taming it.
