Ark: Oceania is a work-in-progress mod for  ARK: Survival Evolved and  ASA created by the AEM mod team. Its goal is to feel like a full vanilla-balanced ARK DLC and to bring life and an ecosystem to a newly accessible ocean. It will primarily add aquatic and semi-aquatic creatures, biomes, items, structures, game elements/features, lore/explorer notes, skins, new bosses, and more! Planned to have less than 10% land mass to encourage full ocean experience.

Ark: Oceania will be split into two separate mods to allow mod compatibility and availability of new content on other maps:
AEM content: which contains creatures, items, structures, etc.
Oceania: which contains the map, lore, etc. AEM content will likely be required for the map to run correctly, and if it is not, it is needed so that you can experience Oceania the way it was intended.

Oceania is continuing to be developed on ASA. Continued development on ASE is highly unlikely.

Current features being developed for Oceania:

  • Brachyura TLC: Brachyuras' model is being remastered, and its abilities, taming, and movement are being redone
  • Aquatic QoL Items: A collection of items, weapons, and structures to fill large progression gaps or provide alternatives for equipment that doesn't work undersea. (Weighted Nets, Blowgun, Aquatic Refining Forge, dive knife, air sack, primitive flippers)
  • Medichelon Rework: Medichelon will give you much more indication of what to do while taming it, and what state it is in, and also be more varied and faster
