Mod:Custom cosmetics
Custom cosmetics are a feature introduced in ARK: Survival Ascended. It allows players to use unofficial, player-created skins for their built structures on any server that has the system enabled. These skins can alter the object's appearance and may even sport custom functionality.
Like traditional mods, these cosmetics are distributed through CurseForge. Currently, these cosmetics also have to be manually installed by the player before they are able to see or use them. However, starting with a future update, these cosmetics will be downloaded and loaded by the game on-the-fly as players and structures are encountered during gameplay, unlike traditional mods.
Some servers (such as the official server network) require cosmetics to be manually approved by their administration before players can see or use them.
Released cosmetics
Released cosmetics may be browsed on CurseForge in the "Custom Cosmetics" category.
