This article is about content exclusive to the DLC: Extinction |
Overview
The Desert Cave is filled with bugs and Rubble Golems, Mantises will aggro you from a surpringsingly fair range and Arthoplueras will drain your health quicker in a mob fight. Like most caves, it is better taken slowly in chokepoints, to take aggro of only a small amount of creatures at a time. The cave is immense in scale, with a high ceiling like the Ice Cave, and a somewhat long path when taking the main way around, with many dead ends and no enemy areas to respite in case badly hurt. A lot water is present, deep enough to house Kaprosuchus alongside Piranhas.

Notes
- Flyers can not enter the Cave, except when 'force allow cave flyers' is enabled.
- However, Gasbags can enter the cave, and make quick traverse due to the layout of the cave. Smart survivor runners will be able to avoid taking too much damage (or any) if planned correctly.
- It’s possible to see a pack of Onycs, a pair of Rubble Golems, Titanoboas, one or more Mantis and one or more Arthroplueras at the entrance at the same time.
- There are 7 known drop locations inside the Desert Cave ranging from Blue to Red. Using the standard Cave loottable. It seems like only 3 crates exist at a time.
