Wild

The Tyrannosaurus Moro is perhaps the most frightening of the Arks genetic creations, boasting a wide array of deadly abilities. Colossal in size, strong in arm, and deceptively agile, a Moro Rex will utilize all of its physical capabilities to overpower and overwhelm even the largest of prey. Whether crushed by its strong jaws, sent flying by its long tail, or shredded in its sharp claws, an encounter with a wild Moro Rex will almost certainly end in a death you may not even see coming...

Domesticated

Although it is not impossible to do so, it is exceedingly difficult to tranquilize a Moro Rex. As such, the primary method advanced tribes use to obtain such a creature is through the sequencing of DNA from the parent species of the indomitable Moro Rex. With thick hides and long, soft quills along their backs, a Moro Rex has little need for additional armor or riding equipment. Such an idea is not only pointless, but would inhibit perhaps the most incredible ability a Moro Rex is capable of; seamless camouflage. While a taxing effort, a Moro Rex can camouflage itself and its rider to invisibility, allowing for the perfect ambush.

Appearance

The Moro Rex is a large theropod that stands taller than a Rex but smaller than a Giganotosaurus. Squarely headed, quilled at the back, long armed and sharp of claw, the body of a Moro Rex resembles in a mixture that of its many genetic parents. Female Moro Rexes are gray in color, while male Moro Rexes come in a variety of colors.

Color Scheme and Regions

Behaviour

The Moro Rex can be rarely found across all maps in almost any location, hunting prey and attacking all manner of creatures. A Moro Rex will attack any tames or players on sight, and may even camouflage itself. A wild Moro Rex is best avoided.

Abilities

  • LeftStandard Bite.
  • RightRoar. Applies the fear debuff to enemies.
  • CCamouflage. Both tame and rider will enter an invisibility mode, lasting until stamina is exhausted. Attacking will end camouflage.
  • XTail Swipe. A spin dealing knockback damage to enemies hit with the tail.
  • CtrlClaw Swipe. Swings the claws, dealing bleed damage to enemies.
  • Alt + xStomp. Stomps the foot of the Moro Rex, dealing massive crush damage.
  • Alt + cCommunication Roar. Applies the courage buff to nearby allies, and builds trust with wild Raptors.
  • RGrab. Grabs small to medium targets in its claws, killing grabbed targets temporarily grants a stackable melee buff.

Combat

This section describes how to fight against a Moro Rex.

General

Moro Rexes function much like Gigas and Carcharas in that their wild stats are greater than their tamed stats. It is recommended to avoid wild Moro Rexes for this reason, as their high health pools make killing them difficult. Combat on foot or on small mounts is dangerous as a Moro Rex can easily grab, stomp or bleed a player. It should also be noted that the protection gained from a Moro Rexes natural armor increases with every level.

Strategy

Aerial combat is the safest offense against a Moro Rex, but will take the longest. An army of Rexes or similar large creatures that can't be grabbed, crushed or easily knocked back can deal a lot of damage, but will die easily. Another Moro Rex is the best counter to a Moro Rex.

DNA Extraction and Synthesis

Though a longer and more advanced process, DNA extraction and synthesis is recommended over the usual KO strategy due to the benefits of imprinting and leveling, and the difficulty of tranquilizing a wild Moro Rex. Creating a Moro Rex is a step by step process;

  1. Extract DNA from tribute drops to create a respective petri dish.
  2. Using petri dishes, create pure DNA vials in the Sequencer. The amount of petri dishes needed for each vial varies, and you will need multiple tribute drops to make enough.
  3. With a pure DNA vial, combine it with vials from other necessary species in the synthesizer to create a Moro Rex Genome.
  4. Combine a Moro Rex Genome and a fertilized rex egg in the Synthesizer to create your own genetically engineered Moro Rex Egg.
  5. Finally, a GMH Incubator must be used to hatch the created egg. Note that GMH Incubators can only be used to hatch engineered eggs, eggs obtained from breeding are hatched naturally like normal dinos.

In addition to the ability of imprinting your Moro Rex, engineered Moro Rexes are guaranteed at minimum to hatch above the max level of wild dinos.
