ARK: Happy New Year! was an ARK: Survival Evolved 12-hour New Year's event. It was released in v320.38 on December 24, 2020 and took place on the 1st of January, 2021, 2022 and 2023.

Content

The event is set to go off at approximately Midnight EST and Noon EST on the 1st of January 2023. Servers running the event will be bombarded with raining gifts in a hail of fireworks to mark the end of 2022. These gifts will contain a collection of skins and rare Chibis from past events that are currently unavailable. The drop rate is dialled to over 9000!

You can use https://www.epochconverter.com/ to get your appropriate timestamp. Please keep in mind that this event cannot be run before Midnight EST on the 1st of January 2023, so if you wish to change your time it would have to be set after that.

• The new year message will always display the last year it run on ARK: Survival Evolved official servers, that is 2023.
• This event can only be run ONCE on a savefile (with 2 triggers).
• If a server is set to run the event at a time already passed, then on load the server will immediately trigger the gifts.
• To run multiple times this event on the same server it is necessary to alter the save file with an hex editor or a text editor that doesn't mess with encoding on save (e.g.: Notepad++) searching the event entries (up to two of them) and rename them (e.g.: searching bDidNewYears and renaming to xDidNewYears) without altering the length of the string (e.g.: the length of new string must be the same of the old string, like just change the first character of it). It is suggested to make an extra backup copy before performing such manual editing. Also, each time the event data is altered to reset it, it is suggested to use a different rename (e.g: first time xDidNewYears, second time yDidNewYears and so on).
