General Concerns

- Is there evidence that says that the dedicated server requires TCP? As far as I can see, it only binds UDP (Plus 27015 is only UDP, Steam master protocol and a2s are all UDP, only steam rcon is tcp) --Bottswana (talk) 10:36, 18 June 2015 (UTC)

- I have seperated the commands section off to it's actual wiki page. This seems to have been reverted by someone in the past, but the linked page contains much more up-to-date data, so I believe this is the correct course of action. This should be discussed before reversing if anyone feels this is incorrect. --Bottswana (talk) 11:07, 18 June 2015 (UTC)

- Please let me know if there is a linux dedicated server ready.--46.59.255.230 07:27, 12 June 2015 (UTC)

- The dedicated Linux server was released a few hours ago (see this Steam Community post for more details). I plan to update this page to include Linux-specific information shortly. (Willfe42 (talk) 17:27, 19 June 2015 (UTC))

- Hi, the Server as a Service is not Working for Debian. I just did it on my own server, I'll try to update the informations shortly (evenning in Europe) so we get Debian infos too (And sorry for eventuals english errors :) ) Edited for more info and connected whit my account :)

- I had to add ?QueryPort=27015 to the command line for starting the server to get my server to work.

- RCON! By the latest config files, the DEFAULT PORT seems to now be 27020

SteamCMD

I've edited the SteamCMD section as anonymous login does not seem to be supported anymore. Logging in using your steam username, password, and verification (if enabled) works for Windows, but I'm unable to confirm for linux. I doubt the command line option will work, as a password and possibly two step verification will be required. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kilowattcommando (talk • contribs) at 13:04, 13 June, 2016 (UTC). The steam install should be "app_update 376030 validate" the number "346110" is the client only I believe — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.168.27.17 (talk • contribs) at 3:33, 24 June, 2016 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

I just installed a linux dedicated server with anonymous steam login, using app_update 376030 validate --Deelkar (talk) 08:09, 6 July 2016 (UTC)

Linux dedicated server console to stdout?

I would like to have the Linux dedicated ARK server to output server logs/messages (logins, logouts, kills, deaths etc) to stdout, is that even possible, and what command line would trigger that behaviour? --Deelkar (talk) 08:11, 6 July 2016 (UTC)

Consoles?

Can you create a dedicated server for others to play on if you are on console(PS4 or Xbox one) Dave (talk) 15:48, 4 March 2017 (UTC)

I've no personal experience with the console-verions of ARK, but according to this thread it seems possible: https://survivetheark.com/index.php?/forums/topic/110664-ps4-dedicated-private-server/ --Cadaeib (talk) 22:39, 4 March 2017 (UTC)

Running all maps as 6 instances

I am unable to login on my Gamepedia account, because I get stuck in an infinite loop. Already contacted support.

Either way, I found a working method to get all 6 ARK maps running nicely. Doing it the wiki way, I would always get my first 3 servers up and running, but S4 S5 and S6 would never work. I used the ports:

S4 9999, 10000, 37015, 37016

S5 10001, 10002, 37017, 37018

S6 10003, 10004, 37019, 37020

But that wouldn't work. The servers were simply not recognized within my LAN, let alone publicly accessible.

Instead, after days of trouble-shooting I found these ports to be working, though I did not invest time in the RCON port since I have no need of it.

S4 7783, 7784, 27018

S5 7785, 7786, 27019

S6 7787, 7788, 27020

I know the wiki says that port 27020 should not be used, or is in use by Steam, but my attempts to use port 27051 and 27050 also failed. Thus, leaving 27020 as the only working port.

I have yet to experiment with clustering. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.115.199.212 (talk • contribs) at 11:32, 18 April 2019‎. Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Clarification on common-session edit

Under: Add the following line to /etc/pam.d/common-session Please add a note that tells the user to add the line "session required pam_limits.so" *before* "# end of pam-auth-update config". I miss interpreted that as a comment, where apparently it is parsed and stops reading the file after that. This had me stumped for about an hour! --David

Ark Server Setup Windows STEAMCMD

Just an fyi STEAMCMD has change you now request "force_install_dir <dir>" before "login anonymous"

ARK: Survival Ascended specific changes

Note: The map name for The Island in ASA is now "TheIsland_WP". I tried to change the page, but was told that "autoconfirmed users" only can edit.

  1. Can someone edit the page to include this info, please?
  2. How does one become "autoconfirmed"? EDIT: Seems I'm a member of groups: Users and Autoconfirmed users. Odd.

ViperGeek (talk) 22:18, 27 October 2023 (UTC)

IIRC "Autoconfirmed" requires an account to make five edits anywhere.

Also added, didn't even see your message when doing so. Perfect timing :) Alex4401 (talk) 22:24, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
