Taming

Hi James, or Edward, or Frank, or all. I see you add information on passive tames that they can be knocked out and then not tamed. That makes sense as "knocking out" simply means getting the Torpidity to 100% (without getting Health to 0, because then they die). In PvP and PvE friendly fire you can knock out other players, who obviously are untamable) too. Every creature can be knocked out eventually; just get the Torpor value to 100%. No they don't die I just used my tranquilizer arrows on them today to see if I could knock them out and it worked they did not die. When I used tranq arrows on them it said unconscious and I could still see the animals breathing and hear them breathing. In fact if you want prof that I have knocked them out to wear it says unconscious I take pictures and try to prove what I saw with my very own eyes today while playing the game. It's true the Moschops, Lystrosaurus and Chalicotherium said unconscious when I knocked them out they didn't die and while it said unconscious in green leathers no torpor value and no inventory came up. I think you misunderstood Tisquesusa1537. (Almost) every creature can be knocked out, no matter what taming method has to be used. It depends on a true/false value named like Torpor Immune in the creature's data. The criterion for taming method is named like Knockout Tame and also Non Violent Tame, indicating you can use one or the other, or both, or none of these ways. Everything else, like a not accessible inventory is a consequence of this, not the reason. --Flachdachs (talk) 07:02, 21 December 2018 (UTC)
Oh ok sorry thank you for telling me that. Also while I have been running using tranq arrows to see which animals I knock out that are only tamed by passive tame. I tried to see if I could knock out a Trilobite with my tranquilizer arrows the Trilobite's back was covered in tranq arrows and I still wasn't knocked out. But thank you for telling me about the inventory and torpor thing also I am wondering if I can't knocked out a Trilobite makes me wonder what other creatures can't be knocked out with tranquilizer arrows. You are right, the Trilobite has Torpor Immune = true, so you can pump as many tranqs into it as you like (as long as you don't damage it too much). Another creature I know by heart is the Ichthy (dolphin). You can farm Eurypterids riding on an Ichthy without being torpored by them. --Flachdachs (talk) 07:26, 21 December 2018 (UTC)
Again thank you oh by the way would be ok to add information about the Trilobite's torpor immunity if it hasn't been added. That might be useful information to know that the tranqs and other things that cause torpor won't work on the Trilobite. Thank you for telling me sorry that I didn't notice it. Also I don't think that you can knock out every creature with tranqs because I tried my tranq arrows on a Piranha and Coelacanth they died instead of getting knocked out. Oh also I don't know if this was just bad luck but I tried to knock out a Hesperornis with tranquilizer arrows but it died so I don't if you can tranq one of them or if I just had a run of bad luck. That's what Tisquesusa1537 tried to say. They died due to too much damage, not because of their torpidity value. The infobox now shows the Torpor Immune value. --Flachdachs (talk) 09:51, 21 December 2018 (UTC)
Lystrosaurus, Moschops and Mesopitgecus didn't die though it said unconscious for them and stayed by their sides until the were conscious and walking around again. The Lystrosaurus was level 16 two times I knocked it out and it never died. The Moschops was at level 8 two times I knocked it out and it never died. Mesopithecus was at a low level as well two times I knocked it out and it never died.
But yet Piranha died, the Coelacanth died and the Hesperornis died. And I used the same crossbow and tranq arrows on all of them. But aside from that would you say that I just got lucky that the other creatures didn't die but aside from some being knocked out and some dying I am starting to understand I think. If I still don't fully understand I would like to apologize for that and once again thank you for the helpful information you have given me. X-Mutant (Talk) 5:14 December 21 2018 (UTC)
I'd say yes, it was coincidence. If you play the Steam version (i.e. PC) you could use a modded spy glass that shows the current health, to see if the test subject is going to die with your next shots. --Flachdachs (talk) 17:09, 21 December 2018 (UTC)
