Phorusrhacidae = Family name, Phorusrhacos = Genra name

I don't know how I can make it any more clear. We don't call Tyrannosaurus "Tyrannosauridae" - Tyrannosaurus is the genus, Tyrannosauridae is the family. And the latin name for the modern-day lion is Panthera leo, not Pantherinae leo. Therefore, the claim about the Terror Bird being misnamed is perfectly valid. 79.74.202.19 13:08, 15 June 2016 (UTC)

Hi, do you adress someone particular with that comment or is it just a general remark? It's already noted in the Notes-section of the page that the genus is probably wrong choosen here. Or is there another discussion I'm not aware of?--Cadaeib (talk) 14:39, 15 June 2016 (UTC)

Yes, I do. Some random IP who keeps removing that statement because he can't understand the difference between "family" and "genus". But he's a floating IP so I can't give you a specific one. 88.105.183.215 15:32, 15 June 2016 (UTC)

Ok, thanks for the clarification. Regardless what's scientifically correct, this wiki does use the ingame description. Sometimes deviations are intended, sometimes they're probably just mistakes by the devs. So thanks for writing that note.--Cadaeib (talk) 15:49, 15 June 2016 (UTC)

That isn't the problem. The problem is that the IP doesn't, or won't, understand that it is scientifically incorrect and thus worth noting as trivia. He insists that "Phorusrhacidae" is an actual genus name when it clearly isn't (it's a family name). Besides, we do mention this with other animals that don't have accurate genus names (like the Trilobites, for example), so it's consistent trivia. 79.74.193.184 17:56, 15 June 2016 (UTC)

That mention is fine and worth a point in the trivia IMO. The removing of that note is nearly 4 weeks ago, I guess this should be settled now.--Cadaeib (talk) 21:17, 15 June 2016 (UTC)
