ARK Wiki:Style guide/Patch Notes

We want to keep a basic and simple layout that's consistent throughout the Patch Notes. To do this, please follow the template below. If you want to add or change anything, please use the talk page before committing as ALL existing patches must be updated.

Basics

When adding a new version to the patch notes please use the template below and enter the details

Placeholder	Replacement	Notes
Game	ARK: Survival Evolved, ARK: Survival Ascended, ARK 2	Provide which game this patch is for. This is used to inform the reader and to help keep track in the wiki's internal database.
Client release date	2015-07-30	The date the client patch was or is going to be released. Format: year-month-day.
Server release date	2015-07-30	The date the server patch was or is going to be released. Format: year-month-day.
		If both client and server had been released on the same date, provide it as the date parameter to reduce duplication.
Some more notes	Added a new gun Fixed floating trees	Take the notes from the official change-log on steam forums and add them in here.

Text between <!-- ... --> are comments, these shall be removed.

Current game version shown on the main page should refresh on its own, but can be forced with the "Purge cache" button found near the "Edit" button. Version navigation boxes will refresh on their own with time.
