La Cueva de la Esperanza Perdida es una cueva bajo el agua en la costa este del mapa La Isla. La cueva contiene el Archivo:Artefacto de la Astucia.png Artefacto de la Astucia, necesario para invocar al Dragón. Esta es un área desafiante del mapa, especialmente para niveles por debajo del 40.

Peligros

Temperaturas heladas extremas.
Una gran parte de la cueva está bajo el agua.
Gran cantidad de Mosasaurios, Plesiosaurios, Tusoteuthis y otras criaturas acuáticas peligrosas (aunque la cueva está bien iluminada, y por tanto no necesitarás una máscara de buceo.
Criaturas con muy alto nivel.
Las criaturas podrán esconderse en las paredes a la espera de que pases junto a ellas para atacarte (casi como si estuvieran durmiendo y fueran despertadas de forma poco plácida).

Notas del explorador

Notas de Rockwell #6: al acercarte al artefacto, lo verás en el camino de las ruinas de la derecha, en la esquina izquierda más cercana al punto de aparición del artefacto.
Dosier de Cnidaria: al atravesar la abertura que lleva al artefacto, atravesarás una cueva pequeña y corta, y mientras lo haces verás unas ruinas en el suelo a la izquierda. El dosier está en el arco que se encuentra en ellas.
Notas de Helena #9: Reach the end of the flooded cave and head deeper into the cave. You will see a hill in a right corner with stone stairs. The Note is past the stairs.
Notas de Meiyin #9: Reach the end of the cave on land, the last note will be near some Ruins to the left, overlooking the first cave with air.

Notas / Consejos

El Artefacto está bastante cerca de la entrada a la cueva, al final de un túnel estrecho que empieza detrás de una estructura con tecnología de Obelisco (ver imagen de la galería). El resto de la cueva solo tiene criaturas a las que matar, pero no tiene abundancia de ningún recurso en particular y no se puede domesticar ninguna de las criaturas que hay. Al final de las cavernas sumergidas, habrá una cueva con criaturas subterráneas y un par de entradas de diario de superviviente.
Las únicas cajas de suministros que se han encontrado hasta la fecha actual están en la cueva sumergida, haciendo que la cueva final no tenga interés para su exploración una vez has recogido las notas de explorador.
Hay varias maneras de conseguir el artefacto, pero los métodos sugeridos son el uso de la fuerza bruta o moviéndote rápidamente hasta conseguirlo.
- Brute Force involves riding a high-level Mosasaurus/ Tusoteuthis or similar creature and just killing everything on the way in or out. This can be highly time-consuming and requires the appropriate dinosaur.
- High-speed bypass requires an Ichthyosaurus (simpler, and cheaper, to tame) or a Manta with high speed (suggested at least 150%, for best results); using their speed you simply race through the cave, ignoring as many enemies as possible on the way to the artifact. Be sure to put your mount on passive in case it gets attacked when you get off to get the artifact, but beware, as they will not last long alone. You may be forced to kite enemies away from the artifact before grabbing it, since these dinosaurs cannot reliably fight large groups. Be especially wary of Cnidaria and Tusoteuthis using this method, as they can quickly bring your speed run to a halt if you are knocked off your mount, or it is grabbed.
