The Deinonychus Egg is one of the eggs in ARK: Survival Evolved.

Overview

Deinonychus Eggs are dropped after two  Deinonychus have mated. They can be eaten or used to make  Extraordinary Kibble for taming  Astrocetus,  Griffin,  Megalania,  Rock Elemental,  Thylacoleo, and  Yutyrannus.

After two  Deinonychus mate, the resulting egg can be hatched into a baby  Deinonychus.

Grabbing an egg in the presence of wild  Deinonychus will cause them to become hostile and attack the survivor.

Incubation

Main article: Incubation

The Deinonychus Egg takes 4h 59m 58.561s to hatch. It must be in the temperature range of 80 to 90 °C / 176 to 194 °F to successfully hatch, otherwise it will start to lose  Health. The female  Deinonychus needs between 18h and 2d before having the capacity to lay eggs again. The incubation time can be reduced by up to 20% if the egg is placed in an  Egg Incubator at the ideal temperature.

Deinonychus Eggs can also be stolen from  Deinonychus Nests, but doing so will attract the attention of all nearby wild  Deinonychus.

Notes

• Deinonychus Egg are one of five eggs obtainable via both stealing it from a nest and by breeding two tames parents. The others being the  Magmasaur Egg,  Crystal Wyvern Egg and  Wyvern Egg Rock Drake Egg respectively.
• On the release of Valguero, fertilized deinonychus eggs found at nests often hatches as it is at "an ambient temperature" to incubate. This was changed at 297.35, preventing the egg from hatching within the nest anymore.
• Unlike the Yutyrannus egg, the Deinonychus egg is useless for making Extraordinary Kibble when unfertilized because the Deinonychus will lay a Raptor egg instead.
• Console command to get list of all wild Deinonychus Eggs in nests that have not been picked up by players on map: cheat getallstate DroppedItemGeneric_FertilizedEgg_NoPhysicsDeinonychus_C
• The command cheat destroyall DroppedItemGeneric_FertilizedEgg_NoPhysicsDeinonychus_C 1 is used to clear the server of all wild Deinonychus eggs that have not been picked up by players.
