Used to craft

The Blood Pack is a medical item in ARK: Survival Evolved.

To create a Blood Pack, a player has to use the  Blood Extraction Syringe, sacrificing 25 HP. The Blood Pack can then be used to heal 15 HP over 2 seconds. Blood Packs spoil in 30 minutes without preservation.

Alternatively, attacking creatures with  Desmodus will constantly produce Blood Packs.

Usage

Blood packs are used as a way to restore lost HP to survivors, but has a long cooldown of 40 seconds between usage.

It is also used both as a taming food, and as the only main primary food source for both  Bloodstalker and  Desmodus.

200 blood packs can be used inside of a  Desmodus Saddle to produce  Sanguine Elixir in the crafting inventory.

Notes

  • As of 184.0, one must wait 40 seconds in between using blood packs.
  • The combination of the Blood Extraction Syringe Engram being available early in the game, and the ease with which to create blood packs makes this a useful, early game survival tool. However, more experienced players can opt for the Medical Brew instead, as it is the easiest Rockwell Recipes to make, and requires no Crops and restores 40 points of health.
