The Coral Stove is a structure in Oceania, that merges the functionality of the  Campfire and  Cooking Pot and is useable underwater with higher health and resistance to damage.

The coral stove can be lit by placing a fuel source such as  Thatch,  Wood, or  Sparkpowder into its inventory and activated by pressing and holding the 'Use' button (E, Y, Triangle, X), which will open the radial menu, where the player can choose to open its inventory, light it, or destroy it.

The coral stove offers up to a maximum of +100 hypothermal insulation and -50 hyperthermal insulation. This effect is reduced by distance from the stove. (Note that due to the size of the stove, it is difficult to receive the maximum bonuses to insulation unless one is standing inside the fire.) Placing a wall that touches or intersects with a campfire will cancel the warming effect on a player.

Damage

When used right, the coral stove can be used to kill even large high level creatures like Managarmrs, but using a stove as a weapon is not advised. It is only useful when a creature is trapped in a small pile of structures where it can't move much; in this case the coral stove deals high damage.

Crafting

The Coral Stove can be used to create the following items:

The Coral Stove is also used to craft  Food Items as well as  Kibble.

During Events, the Coral Stove maybe can be used to craft Skins.

It is also used to create  Soap and all different colors of  Dyes.

After putting the necessary ingredients into the cooking pot, including fuel and a Waterskin, Water Jar or Canteen that is at least 25% full, light the fire using the button below its inventory slots. Every few seconds (or possibly every minute), the ingredients will be consumed and produce one item. Water Jars and Canteens, despite holding two and three times as much water as a waterskin, are all single use.

Needed Fuel

Raw Meat takes 20 seconds to cook. Raw Mutton takes about 60 seconds to cook.

Recipes

See the Recipes for a list of Recipes. Alternatively, you can create your own recipes - see the Custom Consumable page for more info.

When making edibles make sure to remove any  Charcoal as dyes will be produced instead. Alternatively, you may use a different fuel, such as  Thatch, that does not produce any charcoal when burned.

Notes

  • A good trick early on is to store any excess  Wood or  Thatch in the coral stove, so you are not encumbered by it. Be careful not to leave the stove burning when you do this; it will burn up all the fuel inside it.
  • Can cook multiple different meat types in a single burn cycle.
  • If a  Hesperornis Egg is cooked in the pot, it will quickly be turned into 12  Oil.
  • Like other coral structures, the coral piece of the structure has random colors when placed.
