Reptillopithicus is a fanmade fantasy creature and the eight addition to the Anthropalyptic Creations collection.

Reptillopithicus have a form resembling primates and are thus arboreal and agile, but they're ferocious and predatory. Some of their features resemble that of reptiles. They are nocturnal and use echolocation and their razor sharp claws to kill their prey.

Melee Abilities

Bite (Left Click)- Reptillopithicus will bite dealing 37 damage and inflict their venom, which takes 70 damage over 10 seconds.

Claw Swipe (Right Click)- Reptillopithicus will deal bleed, and 120 damage over 7 seconds.

Tail Whip (C)- Swipes tail at target, dealing 23 damage and a stinging debuff, which slows down the speed of targets.

Jump (Space Bar) - Reptillopithicus will jump. Running will make the distance larger, and jumping in front of a rock or cliff will allow them to latch and climb onto it.

Grasp Attacks (Right Control) - This will produce one of two attacks, each have a 50% probability of occurring. The Reptillopithicus may grasp the small target with their hand or tail. If they use their hand, pressing the control again will make them smash the prey on the ground and fling them, dealing 40 damage and an additional 17 when landing. The same will occur with the tail attack but it will deal 33 and 12 damage, and the target will be flung backwards.

Roar (O)- Roar that will increase melee in surrounding tamed Reptillopithicus by 15%, which adds up per pack member. (Example, two Reptillopithicus will have 15%, three will have 30%, four will have 45% ect). A Reptillopithicus army will stack this infinitely. This buff will last 15 seconds but takes a minute to cool down.

Slam (Left Control) - Reptillopithicus will deal 41 damage by slamming their hands, has slight cooldown.

Palm Slam (Left Control+Shift) - They will walk forward and deal 27+2 damage, slamming their hands one at a time on the surface.

Taming

Reptillopithicus are passively tamed by feeding them kibble or meat from the inventory. Berries will work but are not as effective. Reptillopithicus can only be tamed during the day, as they will be calmer (from 7 AM to 10 PM). The player must let them aggro, and wild Reptillopithicus will be tempted to grasp the human using their tail or hands. Their hitbox is at their head, and they will bring you closer to their jaws to deal damage, but feeding them will calm them for a few minutes/seconds. They will drop you after you feed them, then continue to attack you. You must repeat the cycle till their tamed, and it's recommended to isolate one member of the pack and keep health regenerating medicine and armor backups. Shields will also block damage.

Utility

Combat and Boss fights- Reptillopithicus are ferocious and have devastating attacks, and are great for mid tier combat. They also recieve a massive 50% bonus damage buff when fighting at night, and this topped with their pack bonuses can make them unstobbable.

Taming- Reptillopithicus can detect animal locations using echolocation (similar fashion to TEK helmet). At night the highlights are more clear.

Travel- Reptillopithicus speed is comparable to that of Spinosaurus, they're remarkably fast.

Spawning

Reptillopithicus spawn on Aberration and the Aberration biomes of Valguero and Genesis. They also spawn on Aberration themed maps like Malfunktion and Chasm. They're specifically found in forested or grassy locations, and can also be found in Rock Drake locations.

Trivia

  • Reptillopithicus are nocturnal so their vision will blur slightly during the day similar to how fog impedes vision. However this does not happen on Aberration themed maps.
  • Reptillopithicus are inspired by the Future Predators from Primeval and have their characteristics including sonar. In lore they're related to bats and they're fierce, agile, and deadly. They also have a long, flexible tail allowing grasping, just like Tree Creepers.
  • The first and older concept of Reptillopithicus portrayed them as tailless, smaller, and with a Gorganopsid like head with enormous eyes and much smaller claws.
  • In lore, Reptillopithicus are natural rivals to Reapers, so they ally with Rock Drakes for protection. In game, they are known to spawn in Rock Drake locations.
  • They can sit, which accelerates their healing rate.
  • Reptillopithicus can climb vertically but cannot hang upside down or sideways.
  • Since their damage buff increases infinitely, an army of Reptillopithicus will be extremely powerful as each member adds 15% extra melee to the pack. This means that an army of 100 Reptillopithicus will provide 1485% extra damage.
  • Their claws are retractable and hollow on the inside despite being sharp, and they're segmented so that they can compress into itself. This makes it easier for them to travel without dulling their claws.
