The Fjordhawk is a one of the creatures in ARK: Survival Evolved, being introduced in the Fjordur expansion map. It is a small, carnivorous bird known for its ability to return the items of a dead survivor to them after they respawn.
This section is intended to be an exact copy of what the survivor Helena Walker, the author of the dossiers, has written. There may be some discrepancies between this text and the in-game creature.

Most of the creatures I’ve encountered here have endured thanks to their great size, strength, or ferocity. But the fjordhawk gets by on its wits and by scavenging. The bird also seems to have an almost preternatural ability to predict and avoid danger. Fjordhawks follow predators (and survivors) from on high, watching for their moment to swoop in and snatch up an easy meal.
Tamed fjordhawks are surprisingly playful, and their favorite game is fetch. Indulge your bird with this play and a bit of patience, and you’ll reap the rewards. Just point out a target, and your fjordhawk will fly off to retrieve it for you. A well-trained fjordhawk can locate injured prey and communicate its find to you. These clever birds will bond with humans as wholeheartedly as any canine or primate, in a way uniquely suited to this time and place. If you should meet with some grave misfortune, your fjordhawk will immediately fly off with as many of your belongings as it can carry. As soon as you’re respawned by the ARK, your friend will track you down and return your equipment to you!
This section displays the Fjordhawk's natural colors and regions. For demonstration, the regions below are colored red over an albino Fjordhawk. The colored squares shown underneath each region's description are the colors that the Fjordhawk will randomly spawn with to provide an overall range of its natural color scheme. Hover your cursor over a color to display its name and ID.
This information can be used to alter the Fjordhawk's regions by entering cheat SetTargetDinoColor <ColorRegion> <ColorID>
in the cheat console. For instance, cheat SetTargetDinoColor 0 6
would color the Fjordhawk's "main" magenta.
Wild fjordhawks will follow the player, approaching even from a considerable distance and circling around overhead. Fjordhawks are generally neutral to survivors and do not attack unless provoked, instead flying around, seeking a chance at a fresh corpses to feast on. They will quickly swoop in to feast on any dead creatures nearby and are very opportunistic. They may also attack small creatures in the vicinity, such as dodos, which may cause them to abandon the player they are following.

Type in values of a wild creature to see on which stats it's emphasized. Green values on a high-level creature are very good for breeding. If you have already tamed your creature you can try to recover the breeding stats with an external tool.[1]
The stat-calculator does not work in the mobile-view, see here for alternatives: Apps
Note that after the creature is tamed it gets bonuses on some stats depending on the taming effectiveness. This makes it hard to retrieve the levels on a tamed creature, so this tool is only for wild ones, but gives a first impression, how well the stats are distributed.

Shoulder Pet
The Fjordhawk is a shoulder pet, meaning that it can be picked up by the player on his shoulder, it cannot take damage unless the player dies or is thrown off the shoulder by the player.
While in shoulder the weight that the Fjordhawk has in its inventory will weigh half as much to the player.
Loot Recovery
Whenever the Fjordhawk's holder dies the Fjordhawk grabs his loot (Except for his Specimen Implant) and give him back wherever he respawns.
This ability has a 1 hour of cooldown, if the player dies on that time the Fjordhawk will not recover his loot. This cooldown is individual of each Fjordhawk however, so the players can have some of them to keep having this benefit.
Wound Detection
The Fjordhawk's holder can see the approximate Health of targets if they are below half their maximum health. The target's approximate health is shown with a cross, its color represents the stimated amount of health remaining, it turns yellow when it is below 50% and progressively turns red tones as it lose more health. It also detect corpses location with a white broken cross.
Damage Immunity
The Fjordhawk always receives 0 damage from the attacker on its first attack, this ability recarches itself around every ~60 seconds.
Bag Collector
The Fjordhawk can be thrown by the player and it will grab a loot bag from the floor and give it back to the player.
Bag Detection
The Fjordhawk's holder can see on his UI any nearby inventory bags location marked with a skull.
Fjordhawks do not pose much of a danger if provoked. However, their small body and quick movement can make them difficult to hit unless using a large dino with wide range attacks.
Fjordhawk can only be tamed non-violently rather than through the knockout methods. Being a species that relies on the right moment to scavenge for food, allowing it to devour the fresh carcasses of fallen wild dinosaurs is your only method of taming this bird.
Nearby Fjordhawks will fly around you upon spotting your presence, waiting for a carcass to be present. Upon death of a nearby dino, any following you will attempt to land and peck at the carcass. Each carcass disappears after an amount of pecks, depending on how much total health it had, preventing any other Fjordhawks from eating it and increasing taming progress. Be aware that if the Fjordhawk gets injured during the process, either by a stray hit from a player or tame dino, or a wild dino biting at them, the progress resets to 0%.
For a Fjordhawk to peck on the corpse, the dino killing blow can be from either tamed dinos or the player, however you must dismount from your tame and stand close to the corpse to gain taming progress. Fjordhawks do not seem to eat the corpses of Alphas, or very small creatures such as the Meganeura.
The drag weight of the dino carcass affects how much progress it provides per feed. However, Fjordhawks tend to gain more taming progress from feeding on recently deceased Ovis, due to more total health on the carcass allowing more pecks.
Fjordhawk is invulnerable whilst sitting on the survivor's shoulder, meaning anything that usually would harm shoulder pets will not harm them.
